Cards fans. Today is twofold for us...we end a season of futile football yet again and we ring in a new year of promise.
I dislike a few of you...and even more of ya probably dislike me... both are fine. You folks are Cardinals fans, and to me that makes us a family in some strange way....I dont like my older brother either...families are like that.
Our team and our world have issues right now and while many of us may disagree on exactly what those issues are,..or on how exactly to go about fixing them...we stand united in our desire to have them fixed.
We should always keep in mind that regardless of our disagreements we are all on the same team. We should keep in mind that the "idiot" we are disagreeing with today may be our strongest supporter in next weeks debate and while our discussions may often get heated, we are all cards fans...and I for one would be honored to tailgate with any of you
in a couple hours we ring in 2018. a year which may see us with a new coach. May see us draft a young QB for the first time since the Green era... may see us go to war in Korea.
you can put those in whatever order of importance you wish.
some of us will have kids or grandchildren. some will change jobs or start new businesses,...and some will lose careers or businesses.
Over the years I have learned that no matter what happens I can find a friend here. Sometimes the best words of encouragement or support come from the least expected sources. No matter what the issue... health, weight, relationships, jobs... there is always somebody here on ASFN who will listen. For whatever thats worth it has made me feel like I am accepted here.
Sometimes we forget what we have here,..who we are here. I just want y'all to know that I remember the kind words, the support and the advice I got here when I needed it.
No matter what 2018 brings us. 16-0 and a super bowl...5-11...again...economic strife,..war..whatever... I wouldnt leave any of you sitting on the side of the road with a broken car and I am here if you need a "stranger" an anonymous nobody to bounce something off of.
Because we are a family of sorts. We are the birdgang. From the bottom of my heart I wish each of you the best and most prosperous 2018 the world has to offer.
