While seeking a position with the LAPD that will allow him to marry his Mexican girlfriend and bring her to the United States, Jim kills time chilling with his best friend, Mike (Freddy Rodriguez).

Mike is feeling the heat from his longtime girlfriend, Sylvia (Eva Longoria): either get a job or get out. But the love of a beautiful woman can't compare to the bonds of friendship, and Jim and Mike are soon cruising the streets of South Central, slipping back into a deceitful life of drugs, violence and petty crime, just like when they were kids.

This has steaming hunk of peanutty turd written all over it, right down to the lame-o title. Harsh man, whoa.

I just watched it. I liked it, but it’s not something I would recommend to most people. If you liked Training Day, you may like this one. I thought Bale’s performance was outstanding and made the movie for me.

I just watched this and what a junker it was.

So many miscastings it was crazy. Bale, Rodriquez, and Julius (dad from Everybody Hates Chris) were cast terribly.

Yet somehow I was glued to the movie and watched the whole thing.

Yet all I could think about was the miscastings and Bales' mouth/teeth. It's like he's wearing a plastic mouthpiece over them. Anybody know what's up with that? Or is it just the way his mouth is shaped to erase his accent?

I was glued to it too. Not because of the miscastings though, I thought Bale was fascinating as the deranged ex-army ranger.
