The Seahags will not give us Alexander in a million years...so he is not on the list.

Which option do you choose?

I would take Hartwell and Henry..........but I would still use my second or third pick on another rb.

Agreed...If we had the chance to aquire a solid RB AND a playmaking MLB you do it! Draft a CB in the 1st, and Arrington in the 2nd(If Shipp can't come back from the injury) and some OL help...We'd be set!

Um - how the hell do you guys think we are going to sign BOTH Hartwell and Henry to contracts with only about 3.1 million left to spend on FAs?

That ain't gonna happen and if it does, then it means we have a lame duck at RB with no contract for the future.

To me it's Edge or Henry or Hartwell and out of those - I'm all for Edge.

Ouchie told me last week that I'm crazy, so that explains my vote.

Warner and James gives us national exposure and makes us the division frontrunners in the minds of the media guys. This sells more season tickets and creates buzz for the marketing guys. While I would like to have Hartwell, his signing rates a footnote in most newspapers. James gets a headline.

Plus he is a playmaker on an offense that needs every single one it can get.

I think it's baloney that we have only 3.1 million left to spend on free agents. I'm far from convinced we truly have more than 7 mil in dead money. And, there's Thompson and Clement who are goners for sure clearing 2 mil in cap space. Not only that, Davis' contract is begging to be redone. If we really get hard up for cap space, Berry's deal could be restructured too.

I just voted based on the question posed..I not sure we could afford both either...and the Cards really need to re-sign Renaldo Hill...but given the 2 choices..

Well considering that we all know that Denny IS NOT going to get Henry, that kinda screws up the poll. Had to go with Edge on this one, but if Henry wasn't attached to Hartwell, I would have voted for Hartwell ;)

If I had to choose, I'd go with James. But, I really think we'd be better served either trading a draft pick for Bennett, or selecting a RB in the first or second.

So. Why cant you restructure again. Most players would like to restructure becuase it gives them more up front money again instead of waiting for game checks. Davis is making $4,839,000, we can ask him to take a base salary pay cut down to $839,000, if we give him a signing bonus of 4 mill. Doing so we can save 3.2 mill in cap space.

I voted for Hartwell and Henry. Then we can draft Rolle for our CB.

I would like to be able to resign Renaldo Hill also, although I have not seen any financial figures he may be requesting. Given some of the money given the CB's already Hill may be asking too much.

This would be about as easy as it gets to restructure a deal. The last "restructuring" didn't do anything but move some of Davis' future salary to the 2003 cap. He was not extended. Right now, it makes a lot of sense to extend Davis 2 years putting him back under contract for 5. It would be in Davis' interest if he got some bonus money and I think the bonus joe suggested would do the trick.

That wasnt the question though. It didnt say if we had the cap space. Personally I think we could work out a deal and have both. Like aj said all you need to do is cut some of our dead weight and restructure some if necessary. Other teams do it. Why cant we?

I am a Chiefs fan not a Cards fan so some of you may want to disregard my opinion.

Like most of you I really think that Hartwell and Henry would be a lot better then Edge. With Hartwell + the additions you guys have already made this offseason you would have a first class defense. I don't think Henry would put up quite as good as stats as Edge, but they would be comparable.

It seems like Green is turning things around out there. Here is to the Cards slapping St. Louis and Seattle around for a season or eight.

Welcome to the board and thank you for the kind words.

I agree, adding Ed Hartwell and Henry would be far better than adding just James.

So cap space is irrelevent? I'm confused - I don'tthink that's what you're saying because if that's the case, I'd rather have Edge and Edge - besides - do you guys think Travis Henry isn't looking for at least the same signing bonus that Lamont Jordan got(11 million)?
