My God - this movie just blew me away. Hollywood Video out by house has a three week special where you can rent movie per night absolutely free - no rules or stipulations or anything - so I've been renting movies every night that I could just never find myself paying m0oney for even though I really wanted to see them - mostly classics.

This movie just knocked me out - the story, the writing, the acting - wow - I don't even think I can put into words how or why I loved this movie.

As Harvey said, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." It certainly is.

It's a 1950 Jimmy Stewart classic about a man and his imaginary 6'3 Rabbit friend. Absolutely great flick - something you would never see today - or actually - probably will see re-made 3 years from now with Jim Carrey hamming it up as Mr. Dowd and basically crapping on the original.

Actually there is talk of a remake, believe it or not.

I actually thought I heard something about this - it's not one of those movies where Mike Myers wants to melt old movies with new stuff in it - that idea came out in Variety maybe a year ago - I thought this might be one of those movies talked about.

Rented it on your reccomendation Cheesy.

I liked it but I must say that The lady who played Jimmy Stewarts sister was god awfully annoying. Everytime her voice cracked I was just annoyed beyond belief!

I really liked it because it is something that just can't be made today - a relatively simple, yet charming story with a really likable lead - glad you liked it.

If you like Jimmy Stewart, be sure to catch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance--considered to be 2 of the best in their respective genres.

I recently watched this. What an odd movie. Took me a while to get into it, but once I did I really enjoyed it. I can't imagine anyone else besides Stewart playing Dowd without really changing up the script.

I searched around to see if Richard Kelly got the rabbit idea for Donnie Darko from this movie, but couldn't find anything.
