he said he's going to sit back and take his time. He's going to declare.There's no doubt in my mind about that. He'll be the 2nd RB taken behind McFadden and hopefully it'll be by the Cards.Unfortunately, I think he may be gone to Chicago before we get a chance to snap him up.

I don't even think Stewart will be a 1st round pick. I like him but he's just not the lock that alot of people are making him out to be. They are in love with the 5'11 230 4.45 meaurables but Mendenhall is just a better RB. He has the vision,nice feet, and cutting ability that makes him superior to Stewart. Plus Rashard is no little guy at 5'11 220+ lbs.

I'll give you vision, but Stewart has better feet, better hands and is a big-play back. There's ALOT more to him than just measurables.

Stewart > Mendenhall.

Receiving: 2 receptions for 21 yards 10.5 avg, Long 15

Mendenhall:

Receiving: 5 receptions for 59 yards 11.8 avg, Long 55

One game doesn't tell the whole story but i think it shows that Mendenhall has as much big-play ability as Stewart.

I don't think the Bears will go RB on round one. They still have lots of money invested in C. Benson. He has been a bust so far and the Bears will bring in an RB but it could be in free agency or another round in the draft but not the first. They have lots of holes. But at this point in time

Mendenhall has as much big play ability as anyone outside of McFadden. Then throw in the fact that he was the main guy teams had to worry about when playing Illinois and he's even more impressive. Stewart had Dennis Dixon and a passing game. Mendenhall had Juice Williams and a limited passing game. When Dixon went out,Oregon's offense went in the tank until the bowl game. Don't get me wrong, i like Stewie but just think Mendenhall is better.

While he has BPA, it's not on the level of Jon's.

Sorry to disagree with some posters but a major draft need is a back with power and speed. We have none on the roster.

I was on the 20 yard line, row 8 for the Rosebowl, with my entire family whom live 60 miles from Champaign. They've been saying that Mendenhall was the real deal all season - with the ability to break traps and draws for TDs (a la LT), but I thought it was just a healthy dose of Orange and Blue Koolaid until I saw him torch USC. And he did it against a defense that nearly every play stacked the box with 8-9 players.

In several mocks Rogers-Cromarte went as low as the 3rd round. If we have a shot at Mendenhall in Rd 1, and Cromarte in Rd 2 I think we'd fill some needs and improve our team speed significantly. Then we could go with a legitimate BPA philosophy from there on out (looking at DEs, Special Teams OLBs, and well-rounded TEs).

But all of this is predicated on letting Edge go. If Edge stays we grab an Rb in Rd 3 (or so) and go all defense with #1, #2, and #4. I'm on the fence on what to do with Edge. Back-to-back 1000+ seasons is pretty damn good for a Cardinal RB. Too bad we didn't draft Peterson last year...... Then we'd all be singing a different tune.
