He wanted Pittsburgh and Chicago honored his wish.
No team does what the player wants, if they can get more value for him from another team (especially if he has only been with them for three years). That would be irresponsible.

They often do. Because otherwise they player can make his feelings known and his intentions to do exactly what Reddick is doing right now...and it kills the deal.

Indication that it's Reddick holding this up, not the Jets or trade partners.

Not sure what his plan is here. If he sits out an entire year (10 games out, 2-3 games to get ready and then half effort in 4 games) he would no doubt get less in the open market.

i think there is a real possibility that every NFL owner is content to let this play out on principal--

said differently -- no owner is going to show up, throw a draft pick at the Jets and give Hasaan the contract he wants ---

simply to send a message to the players that this behavior wont be rewarded

Agreed. His contract demands must be crazy.

You have to wonder if there are locker room issues with him. This is his 4th team in 5 seasons. AZ let him walk after a great 4th year and now the Jets won't give in to his demands after he averaged 12.5 sacks a year the last 5 seasons.

You’re also talking about three of the worst franchises in the league with the Cards/Panthers/Jets involved in that equation.

But the Eagles traded him away after two great seasons instead of paying him.
It's that $30mil

The best guys are getting it and I bet he wants a few years of it to cap off his retirement...
It's not like he has ever really earned legit top pass rusher money for a full contract.
Rookie deal here, Carolina didn't pay him poo...
That salary reset last year just came at a bad time for him
