okay, the general thought has been that kobe told the suns "no way, jose" very early and that is why the suns tacked and went after nash. the premise is that kobe is not gonna leave la and either resign with the lakers or sign w/ the - gasp - clips. that said, what's up with taking TWO meetings with the nugz? if the nugz can entice him, i HAVE to think that the suns could have.

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! this just further adds to my already considerable frustration with this offseason.

(and yes, i KNOW, this is all speculation, but we have nothing else to go on but rumors and conjecture at this point, so that's what i am basing my thoughts and frustrations upon)

Kobe is visiting Denver for a frew reasons:
1. His inflated ego and need to be wined and dined by teams that he knows he will never play for. That is called dishonesty and manipulation!
2. His attorneys probably told him to visit Denver in hopes of making a PR advancement in Colorado. Not in terms of affecting the trial, but in terms of his public perception in Colorado. Damage control if you will.
3. In an attempt to wiggle even more power out of the Lakers.

Kobe is using the Denver Nuggets, they know it, we know, and Kobe knows it. What a wonderful FA system we have!

Because the Lakers did not get Coach K, his pick.

Because the Lakers have not traded Shaq yet.

Both of these have given him even more leverage.

The Denver Nuggets made it to the playoffs last year, are going to keep the base of their team together, and have over $20 million to spend in free agency. That is why they might be more appealing than the Phoenix Suns.

Yea, people are looking for the "Barkley type" deal but the team that traded for Barkley went to the Western Conference Final.

This team didn't even make the playoffs. The comparsion is not valid. It is too early to make a similar move. Not that we shouldn't try, it is just unlikely right now.

It would be easier for Kobe to get work release top play in the NBA if he signs with a team in the same state he is convicted in! :) They generally do not let you work release to other states! That's because someone has to pay for the Federal Marshall to escort the work release prisoner. There was a guy on the Rams a long time ago that had to be escorted by a federal marshall, and the team picked up the marshall's salary and expenses as part of the wrok release deal worked out by the Rams. Maybe an old timer can remember the guy's name. (Little? Light?)

good point yuma but then the team would still have to pay for the marshell to follow him to all of the away games. also you have to post something about having a convicted sex offender where ever you go. something like this.

Leonard Little, DE for the Rams. This idiot killed a mother and child in a automobile accident while intoxicated. I don't believe he got any jail time, if he did it was less than a year. Then, earlier this year he was arrested for a DUI. I can't believe this *#*&@^ got behind the wheel again intoxicated. I hope he rots in jail and never sees another dollar from his contract.
