On Wednesday, Amazon (AMZN) announced a content licensing agreement with HBO that makes select HBO programming available to watch on Prime Instant Video starting May 21. The deal is the first streaming arrangement with a subscription service agreed to by the cable network.
The agreement includes older HBO shows, such as The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and The Wire, earlier seasons of Boardwalk Empire and True Blood, and mini-series, such as Band of Brothers. Older seasons of shows such as Girls and The Newsroom will also join the line-up three years after airing on HBO.

Yes it's older content, but it's the first step towards getting HBO without a cable subscription.

Glad I decided to keep Amazon after the free trial. Awesome.

amazon prime is the best deal going… the free two day shipping pays for itself automatically. The thousands of viewing options is just icing on the cake.

Here in Phoenix, I already get 2 day shipping on almost everything as they have a distribution center here.

No GoT, though....

True, but as I mentioned, we have to see this as a first step towards getting HBO without a cable subscription. HBO offers a streaming-only option in Europe, so maybe they're using this option to test the waters and see what the response and reaction will be like.

I found that it mostly just had the same content as netflix. Has it improved?

They have Nickelodeon shows for the kids. A few exclusive shows like Vikings, Orphan Black, etc. A lot of the same content as Netflix though, until this new HBO deal comes out.

My FIL just told me over the weekend that they just doubled the price for Prime. Is that right?

(I've never had it)

Ok, who do I have to blankety-blank to get two day shipping at my house in Glendale? I swear that they put my orders on a week long backlog whenever I select the free ship option. :bang:

I guess I have better luck than you. (When the package is actually delivered to my house. They love to deliver it to my next door neighbor. Damn UPS)
