I had the beta app. It's great because eventually when all the other networks catch-on and start offering separate subscriptions???

I am going to drop DirecTV like a hot potato. The only reason I still have it is because I admit I am weak and don't want to wait and wait and wait for some premium channel content to hit streaming. Hulu Plus doesn't get all of my shows right away.

With HBO GO and others rumored to be jumping on that separate subscription bandwagon....my SAT service is on borrowed time. I will just go purchase an OTA for all the mainstream network stuff and the premium stuff I will subscribe too.

Showtime already announced one. Not sure when it will be live.

cant wait.

for those new to HBO GO, try silicon valley. GREAT series.

Just be careful, HBO GO lists the newest episode first instead of the oldest. I accidentally watched the last episode of season one for my first episode.

Still loved it though.

HBO announced that a stand alone service is coming in 2015. I thought I posted a link somewhere on ASFN, but maybe I didn't.

We just finished watching this at my office (yeah, we all got our laptops in conf room, hooked up to the big tv & spent a few days watching tv. My job doesn't totally suck). It is very funny; can't wait to watch again w/dcr.

I read after watching that the weird guy that ordered the whole burger king menu died halfway through the season and thats why he is only on phone calls in the 2nd half of it. Sad news, he was a fantastic character.

Yep and more are rumored to follow. This could not only impact cable/Sat companies but even Hulu itself. This isn't exactly how I thought a la carte programming would come but this might be the only way it comes.

Hulu has to be very worried unless they can somehow figure out a way to bundle these subscriptions for a discounted rate type thing.

Hulu is more of a network television DVR for those who dont have a DVR though, they dont offer HBO programming as far as I know. I use hulu to watch modern family, blackish, the middle, etc.

They do have south park too but I believe at this time that is an exclusive.

Yes but if TV Networks start offering their shows through a streaming subscription my guess is that they would do the same an offer direct service streaming. Which would hurt Hulu much.

I know Hulu has also been trying for years to get more premium content from the likes of HBO but I think this will in essence kill that thought.

I thought I posted that before but maybe not. So, it's going to be a hard price model to say you can pay for it here for price X or here for price Y for the exact same service. If everyone jumps on board they are going to have to somehow convince value in the Hulu service. Maybe being able to offer it lower because of bulk subscriptions?

This is going to get interesting.

Ha ha!. My auto correct found the error and I hit replace all. I guess I should have paid more attention to what was replaced.

GONG!

Yep, that whole scene where the assistant gets stuck in the shipping container was thrown in due to his death (lung cancer). I heard he put off treatment for the show--don't know if that is true, but sad if it is. GREAT character; going to miss him.
