HDMI laptop to TV connection

Trying to connect my laptop to my flat screen via hdmi. Follow the instructions to connect to an external source but can't get the computer to recognize the connection.

Any suggestions?

Windows Vista, NVIDIA graphics card. Sony Bravia and Panosonic Plasma TVs. Won't connect to either TV.

Change the resolution on the computer. Your computer's resolution is probably different than what your TV can support.

It was the TV that was the problem. Only works through the "game" HDMI input. Go figure.

You mean that you can only connect your laptop through that specific input? That's possible.
