Peter and Bobby Farrelly are close to signing a deal to rewrite and direct DreamWorks' The Heartbreak Kid, which will likely be their next film, says Variety.

The romantic comedy is a loosely inspired remake of the 1972 movie written by Neil Simon and directed by Elaine May.

The story concerns a man who hastily weds a woman he thinks is perfect - until he falls in love with another woman during their honeymoon.

Jason Bateman and Amy Poehler were recently set to star, but the Farrellys will start the casting process over.

Plot Summary: Single and indecisive, Eddie (Ben Stiller) begins dating the incredibly sexy and seemingly fabulous Lila. However, while on their honeymoon in sunny Mexico, Lila reveals her true beyond-awful nature and Eddie meets Miranda, the woman he realizes to be his actual soul mate. Eddie must keep his new, increasingly horrid wife at bay as he attempts to woo the girl of his dreams.

If you like Ben Stiller...you will love the movie.

The blonde is alot like Cameron Diaz.

Funny movie! I laughed pretty hard out loud a few times.

this movie was awful except the last scene, which was way too dark/funny/clever to have been the coda for such a trainwreck of nonhilarity.

I wasn't exactly impressed with this one either. I heard before the movie that some people had called this Ben Stiller's funniest movie ever...I beg to differ. Some funny moments but too much time between them.
