Per ESPN
The Miami Heat have traded the 18th pick in Thursday's NBA draft and guard Daequan Cook to Oklahoma City for the Thunder's 32nd pick, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.
Cook, a backup at shooting guard, averaged five points and 15.4 minutes in 45 games last season.

Celtics also looking to get out of #19

Lets make an offer!!!!!

Who would you give up and who would you want to move up to get? We really don't have a ton of trade pieces right now. One guy who I wouldn't mind moving up to get is Daniel Orton. The biggest problem is the fact he is so incredibly raw. He probably would have been best served staying at Kentucky another year. The guy I really want us to target in the 2nd round is Quincy Pondexter of Washington.

So basically the Heat traded down 14 spots in the draft in order to shed $2M in salary. Looks like the Heat needed a little more cap room to go after free agents and re-sign Wade. And with a high second round pick they can probably still get a decent player without committing rookie-scale salary.

Assuming, as I am, that Amare and Fry and/or Amundson are gone
We have money.
Be a buyer rather than a seller.
Boston wants someone who can help in another championship run.
We get some young talent-Hopefully someone who can help some now.

Interesting, we got Draft Express #29 without making a move.
I still believe we could and should have been much more proactive and could have gotten a center too.

I don't know if we could have gotten a real center but I agree we should have been more proactive. I've never seen so many opportunities to improve your team cheaply than right now. Unless Sarver really expects to re-sign Amare it would have made sense to make a few moves.

I've never seen so many C/PF types with potential in an NBA draft. Too bad the Suns could not have found someway to buy a pick and grab a center.

Wow they had Lawal all the way up at 29... not a bad pick for the Suns

I found almost every mock had him no lower than 35. I think it was ESPN that gave the Suns a B based on taking a guy well below his ranking. Either everyone was wrong or he could be a major steal.

Typically guys ranked in the upper 30's are "bubble" guys who are in the same group as late 20's but better because they don't have guaranteed contracts.
