So lately I had noticed that World of Warcraft had been running like crap on my pc. It has been for like 3-4 weeks. I was starting to think I needed to format but instead did a little exploratory surgery on my computer. Turns out my CPU Heatsink was dead. Lucky I didn't blow my processor. Time for a new heatsink.. bah

OEM CPU fans suck anyway.....

Get a Zalman if you can fit it in your case, yeah it's pricey but they are the best, plus any cooler you can get your CPU will result in performance

How does one determine if their "Heatsink" is dead?

The fan wasn't spinning.

It has all these blue led lights on it and when i got it working and those lights turned on I wanted to dance a jig.

Not to split hairs but the heat sink is different from the fan

Yeah yeah.. But a heatsink wouldn't work all that effectively without the fan suckin the hot air off the heatsink.. blah

Ryan, is it possible that the lack of the heatsink and fan working on the CPU damaged my video card? My computer runs fine except when i'm playing games. They chug along unless i have them on the lowest setting.. used to be able to run games at full settings..
