Help Settle an Argument

My wife and I can't seem to agree:

Is green bean casserole considered to be a part of a traditional thanksgiving dinner?

I don't eat poultry of any kind. Give me an old dead pig... Err.....Ham anytime. Green bean casserole is fine with that... I just eat the yummy crusty stuff off the top anyway.

Traditional? I dont think it was a thing 50 years ago....but it has become part of the dinner since then.
