Get the ball out of his hands. Get the ball out of Amare's hands. Pass the ball! He what? He shot it? From beyond the arc? It's long? He banked it in!???

Get the rebound. Get the damn rebound. Parker missed it? Duncan got the rebound, sh*t! He missed the first one, he missed the second one? Marbury got the rebound? He dribbles up the court.. another bank shot!!?? He made it?? Wait, they called it a 2? We lost? We won!!?? We won??? We won!!

If you're a Suns fan, you saw that odd yet myraculous set of events last May. It was pretty amazing. God, was it ever amazing. I'm excited about the season, obviously; I think everybody here on this board is. But thinking about 4 months ago now, when we were in that series against the Spurs, I can't help but be really excited - you know, the jittery, ADD inducing excited. The kind of nervous anxiety you have before you get married, on your wedding day, or when you have your first child. Yes, it's that kind of excitement I'm feeling today, because I know that the NBA season is coming, and for the first time in a long time, I know we can really make something happen.

That Suns-Spurs playoff series was probably the best series of last year's playoffs. It wasn't as flashy as the Mavericks-Kings series, and it didn't seem to have the undercurring implications of the Spurs-Lakers series. It didnt' seem to mean as much as it would have had it been 2 rounds later, and the fact that the Suns came out on the losing end was more or less devastating, but it was an amazing series.

It only leads me to believe that this season is going to be full of events like that that transpire in a similar way, hopefully with the end result us being victorious. Everytime Amare Stoudemire took the ball through 3 guys and dunked right on top of the league's MVP, I knew that this team was going to have something to prove come this november. Everytime I heard somebody get all excited about Tony Parker's "incredible" performances against Marbury in game's 5 and 6 I knew that somewhere Marbury was on the court vowing to never let that happen again. He played his heart out in that series and let's not forget the only reason Parker did anything against him was because Stephon hurt his shoulder in game 4. Hell, we very well could've won that whole series had he not been seriously slowed by his stinger. And all of this makes me more and more eager for this season to begin.

I'm sure you all know the feeling, checking Suns.com and azcentral.com every 20 minutes, hoping they have something new to read about. (It's unfortunate that every 20 minutes they do have a new article, normally entitled "________ goes down with injury", but at least it's news). I don't know if we'll win a championship this year. I don't know if Penny will start over JJ, even though he should. I don't know if Marbury will be dunking the ball like he did in Minnesota, or if Frank Johnson has finally figured this whole coaching thing out. But I do know that I can't wait to be there with all you guys, watching, studying, finally exhaling, because the truth is, when I get the chance to answer any of these questions, I'm gonna be there to find out.
