When the Cardinals make a move of some importance, why do I still get the feeling that this is the "same old way" Cardinals go about doing business. It definitely feels like molasses outside in January trying to flow downhill. Other teams have hired headcoaches and coordinators while we can not simply make up our mind on someone. I know that I am going to be told that they want Butler, but what if they can not reach an agreement with him? :barf:Lots of good people have already found their home for next season, and here we sit.

Have to keep in mind that Butler may not be the only target Whis and the FO have in mind. Other possible candidates could still be in the playoffs. None of us know who has been identified as potential DC candidates. There's really not much out there other than college coaches. Do you really want to sign somebody just to sign somebody?

If that gives Max Hall more snaps, that is not true.
Maybe, but then Hall would have been out earlier and we could have seen Skelton for a few more games... not thinking Hall to be the long-term starter, but not convinced that Skelton can't be... just sayin'

DA being out earlier would have been a benefit IMHO
That was one of the good things that happened this last season. When DA was sucking balls, and everybody was in here talking about Hall or Skelton coming in to start, Whiz went with Hall.
I was down with it because I thought Hall had showed more in pre-season, plus we didn't waste anything (draftpick) getting Hall. I am glad he came in, we know what he brings to the table now, the kiddie table that is.
Then Whiz back to DA, and people really started calling for Skelton, DA does that to fans. But Whiz stayed strong and said Skelton was not ready.
BAM! DA and Hall go down! Skelton comes in and looks impressive, and I think it is partly because of the time he had to come in to he NFL and just take it all in. He shows the calm attributes a good QB does, and everybody here watched him play so I'll stop on Skelton.
Basically..props to Whiz for waiting on Skelton, didn't really like, understand, or enjoy him benching Skelton in the last game but I aint no coach so oh wells. I am glad it worked out the way it did for Skelton to have a good start.

the season isn't over yet, FA hasn't begun. Chill out people. It's like some people on here like playing the victim of being the fan of the "same old cardinals"

Darren Urban explained it pretty well yesterday. When you consider that there can be no organized practice or OTA or anything that involves the players and the club, the problem becomes if you want a free angent QB and face a long lockout how does a new qb get adequate time to learn the playbook when everything is considered. DA, Max and Skelton are undercontract so there is no need to cut one loose until we see how steep the learning curve is going to be for people new to the team. You can always cut them later.

It looks to me IMO we're playing the lockout angle hard.

Other teams are not that worried about it and are doing business, hiring coaches, closer to their caps etc.

I looks that way to me, I'm fine with being proven wrong, but as of now that's what it looks like to me.

Going 5-11 and getting blown out in half the games and finishing in the bottom 5 of the NFL in almost every statistical category especially on Defense IS the same old Cardinals.

2010 made the two previous seasons look like the exception not a new trend for the Cardinals. Especially when you look at how long it is going to take or how costly it is going to be to fix the problem at QB.

that definitely seems like the crap that Darren's been trying to shovel down our throat for a looooooooooong time now, going back to last season's decision to slash payroll by 30 million dollars and not signing any of our FAs.
