heres leinarts first big mistake of the year (told ya) last post from espn

from this article
http://www.azcardinals.com/news-and...nd-A-Win/bcfa9b54-9d55-43ce-ae71-739fcfee9d27

"Leinart left before speaking to the media."

i'm not saying matt will ever be kurt but kurt was smart and shared his time and made a friend of the media and in turn used them to his advantage

it doesn't say why matt left before speaking but he is expected to take over the most important position on any football team and like it or not he is going to be the face of the franchise

better to stroke the medias ego in the pre season and work out the kinks
or god forbid he stinks the joint up for a few games and has a ryan leaf moment in the locker room
go read the last post I linked from espn please

get your mind right matt

Fitzgerald used to do the same thing a few seasons ago before someone called him on it. Something Leinart should learn to do through the maturation process from back up to starter.

Ummmm maybe there was an actual reason for his leaving early????

It's not like he played a bad game and was trying to dodge the media. I am sure there is an explanation.

Let me say that I would leave to after the way the Oline protected him...

well nothing really, its just you know how the media is you can be a media darling like farve or warner and it'll get you a lot farther than "leaving before commenting"

I understand he's not warner but good or bad kurt was at the podium after every game just being a classy guy, it just seems like something that matt could have taken as a lesson in how to handle the media,

hell I don't know maybe he had a previous engagement figured ah,its just a preseason game and jammed and he'll be under the lights from now until forever,
but learning to handle these guy's like it or not has become part of the game too.

edit.
had another thought, maybe he feels the media didn't give him a fair shake the first time around, what with pictures of girls in hot tubs and camping out outside paris hiltons door to watch him leave, so he figure's screw' em' I don't know I'm not in the kid's head
it just didn't seem like the right move to me if you could have avoided it,thats all

He had to run to the drycleaners to get Mario Williams cleat marks removed from the front of Brandon Keith's shirt.

Most of the media probably hopes he fails because they think it would be a better story. It might be that he's tired of the negative press already. If so, he needs to stop reading about himself and just play. Give the interview, answer the questions, and don't read the net. the only opinions that should really matter to him are his teammates and his coaches.

Leinart did not have a good game and he knew it and that the press would be on him. Thus he ducked the press, even Urban did not think that was smart.

Matt has been answering the questions so far this year. I think he has been saying the right things and has been patient with the media. My instincts tell me he was not hiding from them last night since he has faced them in the past after much worse performances on the field.

It is his job to answer the questions after a game, but until I know the reason why he didn't do his job, I won't criticize the action.
