The streets of New York City's Financial District, just around the corner from the Statue of Liberty, were alight with cheers and celebration on Wednesday as thousands gathered to congratulate the The U.S. Women's Soccer Team (USWNT) on winning their second Women's World Cup title in a row. Confetti falls over the streets of New York as the @USWNT celebrates their World Cup victory over the Netherlands with a ticker tape parade. In March, the USWNT filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation arguing that the U.S. Men's National Team, which didn't even qualify for the 2018 World Cup and who have poorer game attendance, earn more than their female peers.
