Muscle memory is a thing but when you switch positions and now everything you've ever done your entire career is now backwards it's not exactly easy. Yeah the guy isn't playing great hell not even good but time will tell.
He was getting bull rushed last year as well & this year it's worse after "his contemplating retirement" on CTE issues.

IMO the switching position crap is a cop out! Guys do it a lot in this league with far less issues than JV has had. He's not using his hands & just getting jacked backwards repeatedly.

Either he's lost strength because of no PEDs or he's lost he desire. Getting whipped as badly as he is inexcusable for a 10year vet

Both Wolfley and B-train basically said this. The loss to me all starts with Veldheer's half-assed play and the issues with Lee and Dawson. FWIW I think Lee and Dawson fix their issues. I don't know about Veldheer. How many more chances does he get? I agree, I think he needs to go to the bench now.

IMO Lee and Dawson are fine, their blocking is what sucks and causes the bad kicks.

BASK have been here since 2013 and every single 1st round draft pick has been a flop(although Reddick is looking like the real deal). Buc is out of position, Cooper is gone, DJ can't stay healthy, Nkemidche is looking like a flop...I mean, their #1 picks are starting to look like Matt Millen is in charge of our drafts. I mean, name me one 1st rounder they've drafted who has turned into an impact player? With all of his faults(like whiffing on AP), Whiz at least gave us decent picks in DRC, Dan Williams(another mistake letting him walk), PP, Beanie when healthy, even Floyd contributed on occasion. What 1st rounder has BASK drafted come even close to these guys?
switch the subject from Arians to keim

Except Phils struggles are due to blocking and coaching.

he admitted last week that bad Cardinals kicking fiascos are in his head. That's on him, not blocking and coaching.

and quite frankly, the second he said it, he was pretty much toast, IMO. Didn't surprise me at all that he missed the 35 yarder and his extra point was super ugly as well.

Goats are terrible choices as usual. These used to be fun to read. Here let me help you..

JARED VELDHEER
TYRANN MATHIEU
PHIL DAWSON

Stop. Putting. Coaches. Every week.

Gotta fix that

ARIANS - (if he didn't know Valdheer was THIS bad in practice, why not ? if he did, why didn't he adjust play calls with that fact in mind ?
BETTCHER - MATHIEU gives every appearance to being done, why isn't BAKER in his slot ? What's with the zone ? we don't play no stinking zone ! ]
JONES - Catanzaro leaves and does very, very well for his new team, DAWSON arrives and seems to have the same problems Catanzaro had here and these ARE NOT problems he had before coming here ... ST as a whole is pathetic (which I suppose is a step up from last years atrocious) but
BA just will not NEVER fire a coach he has hired (he said it, not my opinion) so we need to add
a 4th name to the list
ARIANS - judgement, evaluation, skill improvement, he can't seem to do ANY of that, but, boy, can he ever WHISPER

Agree 100%, if he is worried or watching the blocking, well then I can tell you what he's not doing. He not concentrating on the spot and his kick, just kick the damn ball between the uprights, if it's blocked well then it's blocked.

I imagine, if he doesnt have a free runner at every kick, he will kick better. Both the kicker and punter are under fire every snap.

Almost every kickers has pressure
Just our team makes other kickers comfortable kicking

Now that teams know our O line is terrible and can be easily beat by rushing 3 and dropping 8 in coverage... I'm guessing that's going to be a trend going forward. The run blocking hasn't been good either, so running the ball isn't going to scare anyone into keeping the safeties up and playing honest defense. It's going to be a long season if the guys up front keep playing like they do.

For all the pressure Carson is under.... he's making some great throws still, and he's certainly not the type of qb that flourishes under heavy rush. The defense is good enough to keep us in games, but I don't see them ever dominating an entire game like we've seen in the past. This season is in the hands of the o line... which is a scary thought this point in time.
