We have a great recent history about ilb
Certainly Hicks is one of the worst i have seen
Should be benched asap
He tackle like a cornerback and moves like a nose tackle

Hicks is absolutely horrible, I can’t remember getting as frustrated by a defender this much in recent history
For whatever reason, he is struggling more in coverage this year. That is exacerbated by the fact that Campbell has also been struggling in coverage as the year goes on.

That all said, I doubt Hicks gets cut. You only save 3 mil cutting him.

I have easily seen worse LB play for the Cardinals than Hicks. He struggles in coverage and he is not fast enough to avoid linemen if the d line isn't cutting off their angles.

He is a fine 2 down LB. You just have to get him off the field in passing situations or have someone next to him in coverage so he can blitz.
No, isn't fine even in that role
Is a liability in every situation, he is bad against the run as well
Savin 3 million is fine, u can find an udfa or a journeyman and he offers much more

What was Simmons grade? After a few nice games it seemed he really struggled yesterday too. I think all the Ram movement confused him, didn't seem as sudden.

U think he struggled cause wasnt able to prevent the touchdown?
If u see the replay he was blocked by his teammate

No I defended him on the game thread for that play for that very reason. He was just less impactful yesterday he seemed confused

But the problem is that he is such a liability in coverage, the concept of having just be a two down LB doesn't quite fly anymore.

I'd cut him.

The amount of times I’m shouting at the TV saying “how is that guy so wide open?!!” then I’m quickly silenced as I see Hicks trundling to him to close the gap. “Ahh that’s why”

Said it and was slammed at the time but he was Stewart Bradley reincarnated. Big contract for a broken down Eagle who never looked the same after injuries started taking their toll.

Phillips looks like a similar FA bust.

You’re describing a player who is bad against the pass and the rush. Is your argument that he’s not literally the worst linebacker to ever play for the cards?

Hicks was actually good last year. Not sure what has happened. Age? As for Simmons I didn't think he was bad at all yesterday when I focused on him. Made a real good play on a run stop for no gain that was even isolated on by the telecast. Let the man play. We need his speed out there.

He's 28. Should be in his prime.

I get it, but it is 3 mil. I would rather have him on the roster than cut him, bring in someone new, and have 3 mil to do practically nothing with. Just me.

Meh. Lots of LBs aren't athletic enough to make up for a bad defensive line or when defensive linemen miss their assignments.
