He's 28. Should be in his prime.
Injuries can age you quickly.

I get it, but it is 3 mil. I would rather have him on the roster than cut him, bring in someone new, and have 3 mil to do practically nothing with. Just me.
They both suckxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
I agreeBench Hicks. Play Simmons.
Bench Allen. Play Coley (or anyone).
Bench Isabella. Play Johnson.
Bench Sweezy. Play Garcia if Murray isn't back.
Players need to know there are consequences for being trash.
Interesting game on Sunday. A coach who gives cell phone breaks vs a coach who makes players run laps for messing up in practice.
this is brilliant! He tackle like a cornerback and moves like a nose tackle

You have the find the root of the problem, whether it's the players or the DC. Sort of like the OL, sometimes you can pick the guy who is struggling to such a degree it's affecting the play of others around himWhat was Simmons grade? After a few nice games it seemed he really struggled yesterday too. I think all the Ram movement confused him, didn't seem as sudden.
In modern day football - are there really any downs that aren't passing downs? He is a fine 2 down LB. You just have to get him off the field in passing situations or have someone next to him in coverage so he can blitz.
Zach Allen has missed a lot time with a bad ankle and it has been a problem for him almost the entire season. I wouldn't be so quick to write him off long term.
You aren't wrong but you still need guys who can call defense, call the audible, shift the line, and go get a RB. Especially in our division. My main point is that having him play 100% of the snaps is not putting him in position to be successful anymore. In modern day football - are there really any downs that aren't passing downs?
Hicks and Allen sounds like a local radio morning show.
I mean, you're probably right here....
I've been a lukewarm Keim defender, but I'm really starting to turn on him. It's like...for every good move, you see three that didn't work well. Murray will be a hit. Some of the coaching hires and some of his draft picks (Humphries late round one is a real good one now) have worked. Obviously he's stolen players in trades, so he obviously has some concept of building a team. But he just flat out misses way too often and when the depth of the team is tested, it just seems that the team falls apart.
I've been abstaining from posting since after the Seahawks game for a few reasons (one of them being a personal reason), but I think this team would be playing ALOT better without the massive amount of injuries to the DL. The problem is that the other holes in the roster CAN'T make up for it. The CBs and LBs aren't good enough to make up for it. On offense, Murray is obviously hurt and playing through an injury that is clearly bothering him. And the running game is really dependent on Murray's ability to run to make Drake/Edmonds more effective. So now teams can stop the run, the clog intermediate passing lanes and rush the QB. Kingsbury isn't doing enough scheme wise to make up for these problems.
I'm with you on the idea of building up the OL. Just like the Saints figured with Drew Brees, I think Murray needs a strong OL to maximize his effectiveness. I think that this is the offseason to give Larry an ultimatum....take less or walk. I love Larry, but if you look at WR salaries, he is vastly overpaid for his effectiveness. I like your idea of bringing in JuJu...I'd try to bring him in at about a 11 mil per year deal over three with large guarantees. My reasoning is that I think JuJu can be a real good receiver in Kliff's offense and he can get paid a good contract now, and become a free agent in a few years again.
There is no financial benefit to get rid of Allen but I am not counting on him until he shows me otherwise. Health, production, all of it.
Let's be fair though, they dicked around with him again. He's not an interior guy. He never was. He was a 270lb DE in college and they have tried to make him a 290lb DT.
He's shown absolutely nothing. Work him down to 260lb in the offseason and see what he can do at OLB. He's never going to be more than a bad DT.
Zach Allen's first two years have been wrecked by injuries. His situation reminds a little bit of DJ Humphrey's first couple of years with injuries making it very difficult to access his future ability to be an NFL starter. I definitely haven't given up on Allen. Also consider that defensive lineman frequently take a year or two to transitions from college to the pros. Adding weight and strength is usually part of the transition. Let's see what he does next year before we throw him overboard.
Don’t disrespect CJ by grouping him with Peterson.I was a long time Keim defender. Even through the Wilkes debacle and the DUI. Not any more. I want a new GM because I don't like the culture at the Cardinals. It's soft from top to bottom. Players like P2 and CJ are happy to play here not because we will challenge for anything, but because it's comfortable, easy and with low expectations.
Unfortunately I don't see Mike ever bringing in an outside guy. The next GM will almost certainly be AW. Who will just be Keim 2.0.
However, I'm reticent to judge him on player performance because to me it's like if you go out and you buy an expensive tool, the result really depends on who's using it.
All those BA years when Keim got praise for the "Keim time" signings, well we had good coaches to make the best of them. Especially when Bowles was here. When Bowles left, those signings didn't have the same impact. Under Wilkes, Kliff and Vance they have all but vanished.
Keim of course, is responsible for the coaches and that's where he should get the blame. The poor players performance and lack of impact from FA's lies with coaching for me.
This is why we drafted and or will be drafting guys like Isaiah Simmonsxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
