BASEBALL

Liberty Union 6, South Webster 4:
Led by junior Tanner Farmer, the Lions pulled out a 6-4 nonconference win.

Farmer had three hits, including a solo home run and four RBIs, and picked up the win on the mound by giving up zero earned runs and striking out five. Noah Shook added two hits for the Lions.

Fairfield Union 21, Washington Court House 12: The Falcons exploded for 21 hits in their nonconference win over the Blue Lions.

Ashton Waldrop went 4 for 5, including a home run, three RBIs and scored five runs. Chase Harmon had four hits, including two triples and four RBIs, Gage Hammond and Ben Barringer had two hits and three RBIs each, while Garrett Dilcher and Brady Andrews both went 2 for 2. Eli Wolfe picked up the win, going five innings, giving up seven hits and striking out six.

Fairfield Union 5, Logan Elm 4: The Falcons held on for a Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the Braves.

Jacob Forson pitched six strong innings, giving up two runs on four hits and striking out four. Ashton Waldrop had two hits, including a double.

Berne Union 6, Logan 0: The Rockets (7-3) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in their nonconference win over the Chieftains.

Ethin Redinger pitched six innings, giving up two hits, zero runs, while striking out six. Gage Wolford pitched an inning, not allowing a hit and struck out one.

James Hocking went 3 for 3, including a triple and scored two runs. William Bolton had two hits, including a triple and two RBIs, Colton Moore had two hits and an RBI and Colt Probasco had a hit and an RBI.

Liberty Union 4, Berne Union 0: Owen Thomas fired a complete-game, two-hitter and finished with four strikeouts to help lead the Lions to a nonconference win over the Rockets. Cam Wood went 2 for 4 to lead the way for the Lions.

Jeremy Hartmann pitched six innings for the Rockets, giving up three hits, zero earned runs and seven strikeouts. William Bolton hit a triple and James Hocking doubled for the Rockets.

Berne Union 3, Millersport 2: The Rockets edged the Lakers in Mid-State League-Cardinal Division action.

Cam Brown picked up the win as he pitched four innings, giving up three hits, zero earned runs and striking out seven. Clayton Moore pitched three innings in relief, giving up one hit and striking out six.

Ethin Redinger went 2 for 2, Zach Hartmann had two hits, while Clayton Moore and James Hocking had a hit and an RBI each.

Fairfield Christian Academy 8, Zanesville Rosecrans 5: AJ Holbrook helped lead the Knights to a MSL-Cardinal Division win over the Bishops by striking out 13.

Reilly Brandt went 3 for 3 and Josh White had two hits for FCA.

SOFTBALL

Liberty Union wins a pair:
The Lions cruised in a pair of nonconference games by beating Chillicothe 6-4 and Heath 17-0.

In the win against the Cavaliers, Alexis McCoy went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Ryleigh Brown hit a solo home run. Eden Wilson started and pitched five innings, giving up six hits, two runs and striking out eight. Suzie Shultz picked up the win in relief, giving up no hits and striking out four.

In the victory over the Cavaliers, the Lions finished with 15 hits, led by Shultz, who went 2 for 3, including a home run and three RBIs. Emmalee Putnam had two hits and two RBIs, Masie Buskirk went 2 for 2, including a double, and Emilyn Kanet went 2 for 2.

Liberty Union 10, Circleville 7: A day after beating the Tigers 14-0, the Lions had to come from behind to pull out their MSL-Buckeye Division win. Trailing 7-4, the Lions scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out the victory.

Addi Osterman led the way by going 3 for 4, Emmalee Putnam had two hits, including a double and two RBIs, and Payton Hochradel and Suzie Shultz had two hits each. Shultz started and pitched five innings, giving up eight hits, three earned runs and striking out six. Eden Wilson pitched two innings, giving up four hits, two runs and striking out three.

In the 14-0 win, Shultz went the distance, giving up two hits while striking out eight. Putnam led the offense with two hits, including a double and four RBIs. Shultz had two hits and two RBIs, and Osterman had two doubles. Alexis McCoy added two hits.

Millersport 17, Miller 3: The Lakers improved to 11-2 after their MSL-Cardinal Division win over the Falcons.

Emma Raver led the way with three hits and five RBIs, and in the process recorded her 100th career hit. Kendyl Bonkowski earned the win, giving up four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. She also had three hits.

Millersport 16, Berne Union 5: The Lakers cruised in a MSL-Cardinal Division win over the Rockets.

Kendyl Bonkowski led the way with four hits, including a home run and a double. Bonkowski picked up the win in the circle, giving up seven hits, three earned runs and striking out 12. She also recorded her 300th career strikeout. Emma Raver, Scarlet Sheets, Ginny Worstall, Kira Squires, and Ava Blevins each collected multiple hits for Millersport.

Lauryn Kuhn led the Rockets by going 2 for 3, including a triple. Rylee North had two hits, including a triple and scored three runs, and Sophia Williams had a double and an RBI. Reese Besco and Josilyn Hedges pitched for the Rockets.

TENNIS

Final: Lancaster 5, Logan 0:
The Golden Gales blanked the Chieftains in Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division action.

At No. 1 singles, Christian Uhl won 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles, Jayden Stone won 6-1, 6-0, and at No. 3 singles, Ben Richardson won 6-0, 6-1. At No. doubles, Shawn King and Cole Alspach won 6-0, 6-2, and at No. 2 singles, Finn Quickert and Grace Hampson won 6-0, 6-2.
