I was just thinking about the Fitz and Taylor debate before the draft. If we had drafted Taylor, we would be in much worse shape at the WR position now that Q is down. Our staring three could be Gilmore, Kasper, Poole, or two or three others you could throw in that mediocre mix. Now that Adrian Wilson has potentially turned the corner, it was a good thing we got Fitz instead of Taylor. Fitz is better than anyone we have right now. Hopefully Johnson breaks out this year, and Q heals fast, and only misses 4-5 games.

Johnson, Fritz and someone else will do fine. In hinsight when he had the swollen knee on monday he should have been taken to the dr. for testing not been on the field for the afternoon workout. That might have made go from a little thing to what we have today.

IMO Fitz and Tayler will be the best two players taken out of this draft this year.

Re: Draft hind-sight

I remember Michael Irvin stating that they should've taken Taylor--that drafting Fitz' was too much of a "luxury"--since they already had 'Quan. I thought, there's NO WAY they could pass on Fitz' in light of DG's comments, and the strength of his offense is 3-WR to attack, so the pick made perfect sense. Speaking of Taylor, I read awhile back that he strained his knee the 1st day of practice. I wonder if any Redskin fans cried, "We're cursed!" I doubt it. GO CARDS!!

Sure but if Dexter's back were a problem and Quan was healthy, you could make the same claim for Taylor. I've said all along I think Taylor was the best player in the draft, but I FULLY understand taking Fitz, in Green's system you need WR's and he clearly didn't think we had the guys he needed.

If we had drafted Taylor, and Adrian was having a great camp, there would always have been the possibility of dealing him, dealing Jackson, or playing a 3 safety secondary, the same deal New England has used with GREAT effectiveness the last 2 years. You can always find room for a great player.

if it's me I pick Taylor, but I fully understand and support the selection of Fitz because in the system Green wants to install, he needs WR's.
