Randy Johnson will be the first Diamondback player inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame tomorrow.

I wonder if Randy will go in as a D-back or Mariner. I would expect it will be as a D-back.
Seems this has been talked about a bit over the years. I'd be utterly shocked if he goes as a Mariner. But, doesn't mlb pick? Thought I read that moons ago or not.

I believe MLB looks at years of service to a team...In the event a player has equal time with multiple teams, they work to accommodate the player...I think this was a factor with Andre Dawson a few years back, because he played the same amount of time with the Cubs and Expos.

Everyone of them well deserved of it too

Not sure I would've put Biggio in the Hall of Fame. He was a very good player, but his numbers aren't exactly elite.

The pitchers definitely deserve to go.

If that's the case he'll be a Mariner.

Why do you say that?

He lives in Arizona. Dbacks have him as one of their legends. He works for the Dbacks. His greatest seasons were with the Dbacks
If it truely is based on duration with a team it's 10-8 Mariners.

Don't get me wrong, I agree he should be in as a Dback. He built his career in SEA, but cemented his status as possibly the greatest lefty ever in AZ.

Maddox went in with a blank cap. I could see the same thing happening with Randy.

Duration is only part of it. His greatest days were in Arizona:

1) World Series MVP
2) Perfect Game
3) 20-strikeout game
4) 4 Cy Youngs

I read that there have been a few players who chose to go in with a blank cap.

As far back as Yogi Berra. At first, I was surprised that he wasn't chosen as a Yankee.

But, if I remember, he was pissed that they bypassed him for Manager and he wound up managing the Mets. For which he did not deserve election to the Hall. As Manager, he was a great Catcher.

Not as great as 3-time MVP Roy Campanella, of course. :)
