This organization absolutely sucks. Why they continue to get a free ride from the media is beyond me.
Nice job of gutting what little talent you did have upon entering your brand new facility.
What a friggin joke.

I agree, prolly because nobody cares about the team. In defense of the team, they are missing agruably their three best players right now, in Nagy, Johnson and Tanabe. Still, Mike Barnett is a ******, and gets fleeced in every deal, save the Morris deal.

Actually, I slightly disagree... He did get "fleeced" in the majority of the trades he made last year, but it seems he's improved as of late... Mike Comrie has been a solid addition (Burke has struggled w/the Flyers and I was against them trading Branko initially, but he can easily replaced) and Brent Johnson will thrive in goal if he starts on a regular basis.....

I ust hope Barnett finally establishes some sense of direction and remains on one rather than taking 1-step forward and 2-steps back most of the time, but the 3 most recent trades that netted Comrie, Morris, and Johnson are quite favorable..

I believe that with the Gratton/Vaananen deal the Coyotes are headed in the right direction. The team's defense dramatically improved with that trade as it did with the Sillinger for Johnson trade. Now the Coyotes have 2 streaky goalies they can ride or hide depending on what cycle they are in during their streak and they have a very real #1 defenseman in Derek Morris and a solid defensive prospect in Keith Ballard who will fit in nicely with Morris, Tanabe, Mara, Spiller, Suchy and Knyazev in the near future.

Now, with all the cash they have (their payroll is under $30 million) they will be able to sign 1 top 6 scoring forward, 1 top 4 defenseman and 1 top checking forward.

Yea, the thing that bugs me is when they call a penalty like three minutes after the infraction. WTH is up with that? I understand the team that committed the penalty has to touch (or control?) the puck to stop play but it is confusing to me. Then they call boarding or something and I can't help but think there were guys crashing guys into boards all over the place but one of them at some point was a penalty.

Hockey is ok in person but I can't watch on TV. Maybe if the :yotes: were in the playoffs I would watch but that is about it.

There are a lot of problems with the NHL but none more obvious and frustrating than the entire referring system. It's become so subjective it's a joke. What's a penalty on one shift may not be on the very next. Refs are trained to take everything into account before making a call including the score of the game, how many penalties have already been called, time left in the game, players involved, and whether or not blood was drawn. And they hide behind this credo of, "we will not let refs decide the outcome of a game". So in a close game they swallow the whistle and without realizing it they are in fact deciding the outcome of the game. I also like how every other year there is a new rule “emphasis or interpretation” that is going to be "strictly enforced" this year. And then a month later it's completely ignored again. They should call a hook every time a guy gets hooked. Not only if it impeded a scoring chance. And they need to get rid of the instigator. I could seriously go on all day about this...

I can't get an answer to my first question I ever asked about hockey. WTH is icing? I see it being called so I made a mental note of it. Then 2 minutes later I see the same thing but no call! WTF? I ask people the rule, and almost every person has a different answer. :( I got tired of the run a round, and just watch hockey when the Yotes are in the playoffs, which has taken up 1 week of my life a year watching hockey. Well, I haven't watched hockey in 2 years now.

I want...NO I DEMAND!..that the rules be enforced and told to me the same way each time!

If you demand you receive:

Icing is when the puck is dumped from the defensive side of the red line all the way down past the goal line at the other end and it is touched first by someone on the other team. It can be nullified if: a linesman feels that a player on the other team could have played it before it crossed line, if the goalie leaves his crease to play it, if it ends up on net, or if someone on the team who iced it touches the puck first. And there is no icing of when you're on the pentaly kill.
