Luis Terrero just got fooled by the "hidden ball in the glove trick". I have only seen this work in the "Rookie" with the kid pitcher, and Mr. 3000. How bad is this team.

If not Melvin at least Carlos Tosca (sp?) thats ridiculous. This team really sucks... And it hurts to watch.

The entire coaching staff, not to mention most of the team should get sent packing for that garbage. Down one run in the 8th inning when you're supposedly in the division race and you get caught on a hidden ball trick not twenty yards from the dugout. Completely inexcusable.

What is unbelievable is not one Diamondbacks player or coach saw Lowell hold onto the ball. Not one!

Another sign of a poorly coached team. Not to mention a disinterested and lazy one.

What a sad game - bottom of the Eigth, three run double with 2 outs. I have to change the channel

btw, doesn't Morrell look a lot like that actor from "Flight of the Intruder" - Brad Johnson?

Clark singles to left, Tererro rounds third but is called back by tosca. The throw comes in to lowell who turns toward the mound, keeping the ball in his glove. Tererro and tosca begin to talk as the pitcher, Jones i think it was, stands behind the mound. Jones then goes to have a chuckle with the catcher about what idiots the entire D-Backs franchise is. As Jones heads back towards the mound, Tererro takes a step off third and Lowell pounces on him and tags him out.

Everything is right on except Jones was behind home plate, backing up the catcher. Jones was then talking to him in front of home plate while Lowell stood next to third with the ball in his glove.

I still can't believe no one realized Lowell still had the ball. Tosca should of been aware of it. I was also wondering why Counsell did not notice that Jones never had the ball. He was at home plate while Jones and the catcher were talking. It still amazes me no one caught on.

The hidden ball trick made ESPN's #1 "play of the day." They mentioned with a slight chuckle that the third base coach should of been aware of the trick.

While walking our dogs my dad and I were discussing this...he blamed Terrero, saying that this type of bonehead mental lapse is the reason this team doesn't figure him as the future CF. I agreed, slightly, but also questioned that not one person, whether it be a coach or a player for the team said anything. I mean, where is the bench in all this? What are the coaches doing? Someone had to see it, and, if not, then coaches weren't doing their jobs and the players on the bench weren't interested in the game, and that's all worriesome.

I agree that this is the player's fault. Little Leaguers know not to step off the base until the pitcher is on the rubber.

Amateur hour.

I think it was funny :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

But also shows the lack of enthusiasim[sp] on this team. Someone, coaches or players had to have seen that Lowell still had the ball but didn't say anything. Seems to me that someone wants the team and Terro to fail.

By the end of this trip we will be behind by 8 or 9 games and the playoff talk will finally be put to rest.

I liked the hiring of Melvin but I am leaning towards what others are saying concerning coaching changes.

I guess we cant be too hard on Terrero, as Willie Mays, Gary Carter, Sandy Alomar, Dusty Baker, Ricky Henderson, and Jimmie Foxx have all fallen for the hidden ball trick. Ozzie Guillen was called out three times because of it.
