Ok I was looking to see about going to the fiesta bowl, but of course I find out it's sold out. So I was wondering how does that happen so fast? If you own Sun Devil season tickets do you get to go? If so how much does season tickets cost?

In most Bowls, The tickets go to the participating schools first, which takes up a big chunk of the allotment. Then tickets go to corporate sponsors. Then whatever might be left goes to local sales. Bowls count on money from visiting fans who spend money at hotels and restaurants, not local people who don't.

P.S. The economics of Bowl football is etched in stone. $$$$$$$$$$

People used to be able to get "season tickets" to the Fiesta Bowl...There was a long waiting list to get into that position, and I have no idea if those exist anymore since the BCS started.

Irish receive 45,589 requests for Fiesta Bowl tickets
Associated Press

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame has received 45,589 ticket requests for the Jan. 2 Fiesta Bowl game against Ohio State and school officials believe they've never had more.

John Heisler, senior associate athletic director, said the school doesn't keep records for ticket demand. But the Fighting Irish have played in 26 bowls and no one can remember such demand.

By comparison, when the Irish went to the Fiesta Bowl following the 2000 season, the school received 22,000 ticket requests.

Fewer than 12,500 tickets are available for alumni, season ticket holders, students' parents, faculty and staff. The school was allotted 15,000 tickets, and 2,500 were sold to students last week. Some of the tickets also will go to university officials.

Got a friend that is a die hard Irish Fan - he sent this to me in an email this morning...

"...speaking of which, what a difference five years, Charlie Weis and a different OSU make. In 2000, I called Notre Dame and got four tickets to the Fiesta Bowl. This year, the guy on the other end had a touch of sarcasm when he asked if I were an alum, or a major donor. So, I went on ebay. All of the tickets were on the 53rd bid and in the $800 for two range. Looks look "friend's name" will be watching this one from the sofa at home."
