Free Agent Rankings
1. Bonzi Wells 6-5 SG Sacramento
Statistics: 13.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 46.3 FG%
Last season's salary: $8,000,000
Multi-talented guard that can score in the post and from the perimeter, rebound and play gritty defense. The problem is talent comes with a lot of baggage, too.
2. Keith Van Horn 6-10 PF Dallas
Statistics: 8.9 ppg, 3.6 apg, 36.8 3P%
Last season's salary: $15,694,250
Averaged career-lows in scoring and rebounds in his contract year. That's going to hurt him money-wise – although he shouldn't be especially worried about that coming off a max deal.
3. Reggie Evans 6-8 PF Denver
Statistics: 5.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 20.8 mpg
Last season's salary: $1,100,000
Not very talented, tall or athletic, yet he always manages to grabs rebounds aplenty. Great team player able to bring a spark off the bench.
4. Melvin Ely 6-10 PF Charlotte
Statistics: 9.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 50.8 FG%
Last season's salary: $1,742,400
Had his first good NBA season in his contract year. That's always a something to be suspicious about – especially with big men.
5. Gary Payton 6-4 PG Miami
Statistics: 7.7 ppg, 3.2 apg, 2.9 rpg, 42.0 FG%
Last season's salary: $1,138,500
Put ut mediocre stats for the Heat, but was a key player in several clutch situations during Miami's championship run.
6. David Wesley 6-1 SG Houston
Statistics: 9.9 ppg, 2.9 apg, 2.5 rpg, 40.3 FG%
Last season's salary: $5,070,000
Had the toughness and shooting skills to survive 13 seasons in the NBA playing the off guard spot at just 6-foot-1. Well past his prime.
7. DerMarr Johnson 6-9 SF Denver
Statistics: 6.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 43.1 FG%
Last season's salary: $835,810
Excellent size for the small forward spot. Pretty athletic even after the car accident. Has yet to find his niche in the NBA.
8. Qyntel Woods 6-8 SG New York
Statistics: 6.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.0 apg, 50.8 FG%
Last season's salary: $745,248
More popular for his off-the-court issues than for his game. Still, Woods has talent. Could get a last chance in the league this year.
9. Jumaine Jones 6-8 SF Charlotte
Statistics: 10.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, , 40.5 FG%
Last season's salary: $1,875,000
Underrated forward that plays with great energy and is able to hit the three.
10. Toni Kukoc 6-11 PF Milwaukee
Statistics: 4.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.3 rpg, 38.9 FG%
Last season's salary: $2,000,000
One of the best basketball IQs in the league. Great passing skills. Too slow for the NBA at his age?
11. Kareem Rush 6-6 SG Charlotte
Statistics: 10.1 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 34.8 FG%
Last season's salary: $3,000,000
Good long-range shooting skills. The Bobcats weren't thrilled about his work ethic and made it known. That's coming back to haunt him.
12. Latrell Sprewell 6-5 SG Minnesota
Statistics: 12.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 41.4 FG% (2004/05)
Last season's salary: $0
Would probably have to swallow his pride and play for the minimum. Not likely to happen.
13. Michael Olowokandi 7-0 C Boston
Statistics: 5.0 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 44.6 FG%
Last season's salary: $5,900,400
One of the worst No. 1 picks in NBA history. Worn out his welcome in Minnesota pretty early. Ended up not playing at all in Boston. Any team willing to take a gamble?

"(R)" after the player name indicates Restricted free agent.
1) Al Harrington, Atlanta Hawks, 6-9, 245, F
2005-06 Stats: 18.6 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.12 spg
Comments: Everyone expects the Hawks to sign-and-trade Harrington to the Indiana Pacers. That's been the rumor for about two weeks.
2) Bonzi Wells, Sacramento Kings, 6-5, 210, G/F
2005-06 Stats: 13.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.81 spg
Comments: The Kings signed John Salmons, which means Bonzi Wells is almost definitely headed elsewhere. But with almost no teams under the salary cap, he'd have to be sign-and-traded to get more than the mid-level exception.
3) Keith Van Horn, Dallas Mavericks, 6-10, 245, F
2005-06 Stats: 8.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.7 apg
Comments: The Nuggets want Van Horn, and tons of teams could use his skills. Van Horn could still start on some teams.
4) Melvin Ely (R), Charlotte Bobcats, 6-10, 261, F/C
2005-06 Stats: 9.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.77 bpg

5) Reggie Evans, Denver Nuggets, 6-8, 245, PF
2005-06 Stats: 5.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.6 apg

6) Qyntel Woods, New York Knicks, 6-8, 220, SF
2005-06 Stats: 6.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.0 apg
Comments: Extremely athletic offensive player who showed nice flashes in New York last season and makes a good primary swingman backup.
7) Gary Payton, Miami Heat, 6-4, 180, PG
2005-06 Stats: 7.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.2 apg
Comments: Heat backup point guard is definitely expected to re-sign with the team in the near future.
8) Michael Olowokandi, Boston Celtics, 7-0, 270, C
2005-06 Stats: 5.0 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 0.69 bpg

9) DerMarr Johnson, Denver Nuggets, 6-9, 210, SG
2005-06 Stats: 6.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.9 apg

10) Tony Delk, Detroit Pistons, 6-2, 190, G
2005-06 Stats (Detroit only): 7.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.4 apg

11) Kareem Rush, Charlotte Bobcats, 6-6, 215 SG
2005-06 Stats: 10.1 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.1 apg
Comments: Will have to fight hard to get a guaranteed contract.
12) Jumaine Jones, Charlotte Bobcats, 6-8, 218 SF
2005-06 Stats: 10.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.8 apg

13) Lamond Murray, New Jersey Nets, 6-7, 235, SF
2005-06 Stats: 3.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.2 apg
Comments: Can score in bunches, though he has shot badly for several years now.
14) David Wesley, Houston Rockets, 6-1, 200 SG
2005-06 Stats: 9.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.9 apg
Comments: Old veteran shooting guard with the height of a point guard can bang home open threes.
15) Kelvin Cato, Detroit Pistons, 6-11, 235 C
2005-06 Stats (ORL and Det): 3.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.44 bpg

17) Latrell Sprewell, His House, 6-5, 195, SG
2004-05 Stats (Minnesota): 12.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.2 apg
Comments: Probably all done, but for the fun of it we'll give him this last spot on our list. For all we know he hasn't kept in shape and now looks like Oliver Miller.
