Horrible. We did not convert one 3rd down on offense.

Of the eight third-down instances the Cards had Sunday – they didn’t convert any – three were needing double-digit yards: 14 (an 11-yard pass to tight end Ben Patrick), 11 (incomplete) and 16 (incomplete). The other five instances were shorter – two of six yards, four yards, three yards, and one yard (one interception and four incompletions).

The whole thing was pathetic last night.

Really pissed off with every part of team and very little, in fact nothing, in the way of plus points. The worst part is we never looked like converting and i know the Falcs are not that good (without wanting us to sound even worse) and if we did i am sure a flag would have dropped out of an officials arse.

I can take getting beaten, but the manner in which we did last night really did hark back to the bad old days. The issues at QB are unaccaptable when we have know Warner was gone for what is in reality over a year.

I'm with you 100% though I dont want to drop this into DA's lap. If we are going to play action we have to be able to 1. run and 2. play solid defense DA isn't going to beat anyone by hiself he just isn't Warner. but like you say we knew warner was going but instead of addressing the issue straight on, we just crossed our fingers ML would be the man....and who knows maybe he was, but for whatever reason he never got his chance to show us this season.....but we didn't seem to have a backup plan in place..

but for me the this one is down to the defense not showing up and poor coaching namely: penalties..how many times has Whiz banged on about penalties yet the situation never improves

Still i'm going to try and move on now before I give myself a hernia

Look: The resason why Derek Anderson is the quarterback is because he provided a spark to the offense and was able to pick up first downs consistently.

Anytime you can get a two-down quarterback, that's something you love to do.

Max Hall provided a spark to the offense..... Derek Anderson provided Whisenhunt to can Leinart.

Are you talking about the Falcons' offense? Because Max Hall's play against the Washington Redskins' fourth team (honestly, they took the pads away from their 3rd string TE in that game) doesn't mean much to me.

Preseason. My thoughts bounce around. Even those close to me have a hard time understanding me. :D

This is DA's trademark always gets in 3rd down situations and rarely converts his entire career. Its why some of us were not high on Whiz's ******** decision to cut Leinart and go with this clown. When you can't hit the guy your throwing to you shouldn't be a QB a 50% completion is terrible and would be worse if not for recievers actually catching some of his off target throws....the guy sucks plain and simple!

Here are the Cardinals 3rd down plays for the entire game:
3rd-14 - 11 yard pass complete
3-6 - pass INT
3-11 pass inc
3-3 pass inc
3-16 - pass inc
Halftime
3-4 pass inc
3-2 pass inc
3-6 pass inc

 Just maybe they should have tried a running play somewhere amongst this crap-fest!

This should be in the media guide under "Derek Anderson."
