Let's see... Wash St. gets clobbered by BAYLOR.

UCLA gets DESTROYED by BYU.

Cal loses to Maryland.

Stanford loses to TCU.

Oregon has to mount a big comeback to win in 2OT, but loses it's QB to a knee injury.

Oregon St. is beating Hawaii at home.

UofA will probably choke in New Mexico.

ASU's game is meaningless for the conference (unless they blow it).

It's the type of weekend when people who say they conference has nothing but USC have a lot of ammo. Very disappointing efforts so far.

Maryland - team that barely beat Delaware, and lost to Middle Tennessee...

I knew the early start time was going to be a problem for cal but that was ridiculous.

Didn't change the outcome of the game at all but the Cal game had one of the worst calls I've ever seen in a college game. Cal pinned MD at the 1 yard line with a punt, first down they tackle the RB one yard deep in the end zone, obvious safety. BOth announcers are saying safety but the ref right there not only rules no safety, he spots the ball at the 1 yard line! Cal calls timeout to give the refs more time to review the call only to find out you can NOT challenge a safety/no safety, so there was no review.

again didn't change the outcome but it was unreal, not only misses the safety but spots the ball a full 2 yards ahead of where the guy was stopped.

Brutal week for the pac 10 Oregon won, USC appears to be winning easily but Cal's loss and UCLA's humiliation sure look bad.

I figured UofA would choke, but I didn't think they would give up THAT many points to a team that can't pass the ball.

I forgot about Washington getting completely waxed at home by Oklahoma. No surprise, or shame, in losing that game. But, to be non-competitive is not good.

but .....USC won....... Ouch, the Pac 10 took a beating. So far it looks like the Big 12 and SEC are the powerhouse conferences. Good year for BCS at large teams.

Capping it all off with ASU's fiasco of a loss to UNLV, it's probably the worst weekend in conference history.

The MIGHTY Mountain West Conference clobbered the PAC-10 yesterday. BYU is the cream of the conference, and TCU is not far behind, but NM and UNLV?! Definitely a "turrible" week for the PAC.

USC's utter domination is killing the rest of the conference. In order to win out West you have to recruit SoCal and with so many of those kids deciding they'd rather sit the bench at USC than play at Arizona or ASU or Cal the recruiting will never be balanced.

I thought the monopoly was over?

:D

Everyone insists Neuheisel had nothing to do with that ad but still pretty hard to see that and then lose 59-0, that won't help recruiting.

I do agree, football is all about recruiting it's an attrition sport in college it's about numbers. USC can lose good players to injury or grades or suspension(yeah right) and keep on clicking because they have another good player to step in. They can lose 7 players to the first 2 rounds of the NFL draft and be BETTER, the next season because they recruit so well.
