Both good lists but basically winning teams assistants always get on those lists and losing teams don't. I vividly recall Joe Bugel being a hot assistant once, Vince Tobin, McGinnis. At one time with Lomax we had Rod dowhower as our OC and everyone swore he was the next Coryell or Walsh.
It's really hard to separate how much is the coordinator and how much the coach. That's why I favor Heimerdinger over Schwartz, it's blatantly obvious that Fisher isn't running the offense. Maybe Schwartz is responsible for that defense, maybe Fisher is, it's much harder to know.
I agree about Willingham by the way but he won't leave Notre Dame yet he's too competitive he won't leave a job unfinished like that.
