Saw this last week with my sis and cousin at a free preview. Thought it would be one of those movies that was stupid and only showed the funny parts in the trailers (which, IMO weren't all that funny anyway). I was wrong. It was funny. We loved it! Not as good as The Hangover, but definitely one of the funnier movies I've seen in a while. A little raunchy in parts, but nothing too offensive (well, to me, anyways).

If you were a teenager in the 80s, then you should definitely check it out.

I know this is going to be knock-down drag 'em out funny because if it wasn't there would be no way a movie with this premise would get made with a Hollywood budget.

Funniest movie I've seen since The Hangover! I went in with low expectations and was surprised. I really LMAO in this one.

Nice comedy.
I wonder how I'll view it in 5 years.
Controversy: In my mind, this movie and comedies like it, are far better than more popular movies like "the Hangover" or whatever Vince Vaughn movie is hot (exceptions made for Dodgeball and Clay Pidgeons, which were very funny in different ways).

I freaking loved the Hangover and think this movie is on par. Hangover is funny not because it's popular, but because it's funny. :)

BTW, just watched Couples Retreat this past weekend. Was eh. Dodgeball was awesome and Swingers was excellent.

The corny way they got time travelled was weird.. But if you get past that, its funny.. Definitly had to have lived in the 80's to like this one.. Prolly..

I am glad I waited for the rental. The 80's nostalgia stuff wore thin in about 10 minutes and the movie really wasn't all that funny. It did have some really funny parts but a couple of the characters were annoying and as I said, it wasn't really that funny overall.

I was disappointed because this movie looked hilarious from the trailers.

agreed. i knew i didn't think much of it when afterward i turned to my girlfriend and said, "eh, it was cute." that's a pretty damning commentary of a movie that was supposed to be hilarious. not as bad as Year One, Get Him to the Greek, or Grown Ups, but not great (or even "good" the more i think about it).

I thought it was really funny. I graduated high school in '85 so it was right in my wheelhouse. Probably wasn't as funny for younger viewers, but I liked the comedy even w/out the '80s references.

Yeah. I think that might be part of the reason I liked it. (That and I didn't go in with a lot of expectations.)

I recently watched it. I'm always up for a trip back to the mid 80's, so this was pretty fun.
