Houston has supposedly offer B.Barry a 4 year, 24 M contract. This contract would have made more sense to the Suns. We should have also offer J. Barry a 2 year 2M offer and gotten two players for less than Nash cost us, more cap space, and a shorter commitment. Jon Barry on a Denver radio station yesterday repeated that he and Brent want to play together and said he could have delivered Brent to the Nugs if they wanted him, plus Rick Barry now lives in Co. Springs.

2 Berry's don't even come close to equaling a Nash.

First of all just because Houston offered him that deal doesn't mean that he will actually accepted. In fact I think it's doubtful he will. Secondly, just like the Nash situation the Phoenix Suns are probably going to have to pay more than some of these teams that were in the playoffs last year.

Now that we don't have TMac we can say it.

No way Brent Barry, Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming get through a season without an injury.

Also if Houston signs Barry they can't offer McDyess anymore than the veteran minimum either.

Would much rather use the rest on 2 BIG's like Dice & Thomas/Flyle/Ostertag.

I would have loved to have Brent Barry, but after getting Nash he would be a backup. About the only advantage in going for him now would be to keep him out of Houston because he could make that a very difficult team to beat this season.

personally houston doesnt scare me. they have no depth and the their starting small forward (jim jackson) is older then the oldest guy on our team. howard is a player whos best days are well behind him. and then who backs up yoa? or howard? or jackson? or even tmac? their starting point guard is a rail thin 33 year old player who missed about haft the season last year with injuries (if they get barry), and their back up point guard couldnt take the job from barbs. lets get real here houston is a single injury away from being in the lottery again and their players are going to be very likely to end up with injuries because of age, injuries from the past, ammount of time playing and/or no time to rest during the off season.

Wow, scotsman13 I just looked at thier depth chart and it is scary. Tracy and Ming are a great 1-2 punch, but then what? I like howard, but man he isn't much of a 3rd option. As much as I believe in the 2 superstars plus roll players equaling a championship, I don't think this team will make the playoffs.

With Barry I think they do. Their main risk is that they could not survive an injury for very long.

george that is the point with the rockets . they are an injury waiting to happen. ming hasnt had a brake from the game since he has been drafted. even malone and stockton slowed down after not taking the summer off and ming doing it for his 3 year in a role.

tmac has a bad back, howard is 31 year old, jim jackson is 33, if they get barry he is 33 and has some real injury concerns. and then houston is over the cap and without draft picks. so where does that leave you?

houston only has one thing going for it and that is their new arena. frankly if i were the GM of houston i would be scared to death about having a major injury on this roster.
