Kevin O'Dea has been hired by Chicago as Assistant to their Special Teams Coordinator/Coach.

The article talks about Rackers' and Player's successes last year, as though O'Dea was responsible, or as testimony to his talents as a Special Teams Coach.

Absolutely no mention of the overall dismal record that this inept group achieved.

Had to snicker.

I'm always amazed on how fired assistant coaches end up being hired by other teams and with a very positive press spin. There has to be a good old boy fraternity in the NFL for coaches.

Did you notice O'Dea was "assistant to special teams coach" before he came to Arizona, was "special teams coach" in Arizona, and now "assistant to special teams coach". Seems to me he's back to where he was before.

What do you expect them to say to their fans.

"Hey we just hired a ST coach that couldn't stop opposing KR or PR from getting huge gains and scoring TDs"

The ST play was as big a reason as the O-line for the Cardinals problems last year. Everyone talks about the O-line but we really need to put a lot of work into fixing our special teams play, too. And the coaches better teach these guys not to get so many stupid penalties. We had to be one of the most penalized teams last year.
