CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Clemson basketball's focus is on the NCAA tournament after Friday's loss.
The three-seeded Tigers fell to No. 2 Louisville, losing 76-73 in the ACC tournament semifinals at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. They went on a late-game 10-2 run but fell short after guard Chase Hunter missed two game-tying baskets. The Cardinals will face No. 1 Duke in the ACC championship on Saturday (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN/ESPN2).
Despite the loss, Clemson will make March Madness, too, entering Friday's game as a NCAA tournament lock, according to projections.
There is only one day until the March Madness bracket is finalized on Selection Sunday (March 16), so here's a look at how Friday's loss could affect Clemson's seeding.
Clemson was handed its third Quadrant 1 loss in falling to Louisville. The neutral-game defeat will hurt Clemson's résumé a bit, but it will still land as a No. 4 or 5 seed. It entered Friday's game on a nine-game win streak and defeated SMU in the conference tournament quarterfinals.

Clemson is 5-3 in Quad 1 games. It has wins against Duke, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and SMU (twice) and losses to Boise State and Louisville (twice). It is 14-1 in Quad 3 and 4 games.
Clemson's success in 2024-25, which includes setting a program record for total wins and conference victories, has cemented it as a high seed in March Madness.
