How do you watch TV?

When the wife and I are watching a show live we both out of habit reach for the remote to fast foward during the commercials. it is utter heart break when it won't let us.

I absolutely MUST get Tivo. I have no telephone line by my main TY though, so I understand that is a problem.

Since you have Comcast,they have a DVR box that needs no telephone plug in.

Thanks, but I hate Comcast. I don't want to give them any more business. I think it's totally unfair of them to force me to buy a big package deal with them when really all I want is the Comcast Sports channel.

I plan on getting my electrician out someday when I have some extra money (ha! ha!) to hook up a phone jack near the main TV.

The TIVO only needs to be plugged into a phone connection for a few minutes a week and it will give you a warning when it needs to call. We don't have a phone jack near our TIVO...but once a week I run a phone line across the room and have it dial in.

Or you could also get a wireless phone jack...I think they run about 30 bucks, but I'm not sure what the range is.

I don't think the 50 bucks for the satellite would be worth if it was not for TIVO.

The guy from DirecTV ran a phone line for free behind our TV. Funny, I was looking at some model homes recently and there is a phone jack in the built-in entertainment systems
