How many here think the Phoenix Suns can still acquire Kobe Bryant?

I think we have a chance. A very, very small chance but there is a chance

Per HoopsHype:

We'll talk to [Bryant], but that didn't come from us, said Thomas, about
the possibility of Bryant coming to New York. He said that in the
Finals. Once he gets done visiting Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles and everyone
else, at some point we'll talk. What we can offer to
Kobe from a challenge standpoint is if you can win in New York, you've
made your mark on history. You can make your mark in other places. But
when you win in New York, you're a legend.

If Thomas is correct, he is at least visiting. So that does give us a shot (not much of a shot but a shot nonetheless)

This is what I wish would happen....!!!

"No way, it's OVER! Quit talking about Kobe!"

The suns signed Steve Nash!! That tells me they did not even want
Kobe Bryant!

It takes a lot for some of you to understand and let this idea go!

My favorite movie exchange of all time. Thanks for the memory.

Kobe coming to the Suns is a comedy and fiction, the Title "Dumb and Done"

I'm really starting to believe that that $100 million offer to Kobe Bryant was nothing more than windowdressing. I think they knew that Nash was their main target all along. I think they probably knew that their chances of getting him here were slim, and they didn't want to deal with his problems anyhow. I don't have a whole lot to base this on. It's just my own opinion of what happened.

It could also have been an astute decision that so many teams wanted Kobe, that the dealings for him would be complicated, he wouldn't give us more than a nod, and the chance that if we waited we would miss out on our alternatives. Sometimes the teams that avoid the big name guy work out better in the long run. We've seen so many instances that teams succeeded when they didn't get their "guy." :)

No one has been able to get inside confirmation as to what happened with the contact with Kobe. My guess is that the Suns knew what the answer would be, but still made the call on the remote chance that something might happen. Certainly their preparation for Nash would have been similar to that for Kobe, except that the Nash deal left some money to do something at center. Kobe's deal took the whole pie.
