Jahidi White, and Howard Eisley...?

If we made a trade, how much salary could we dump on them without getting much in return?

If I was starting a new team, I wouldnt mind getting those two guys for the first few years if it was gunna help me add more talent like the Suns #7 pick, or young players like Jacobsen & Voskul...

Apparently the Bobcats can take on all the salaries they want in the expansion draft, but they can cut them without being counted on their salary cap figures. However, we have been told that any player picked up through trades count for cap purposes.

The theory of using the #7 and $3 million to induce the Bobcats to take Eisley would be that they would be paying effectively $10 million for that pick. (Eisley gets $13 million over two years less the $3 million bribe). If they cut him, he does not count against their cap.

It's not clear the Bobcats would bite, but you never know. Rumors are that they are interested in both Livingston and Childress. $10 million worth?

Some people like Joe Mama argue that the Bobcats will simply not be willing to spend $10 to get the extra draft pick. Others argue that giving up the pick is too much just to get cap space if it appears that Kobe won't be available.

I'm guessing it will all depend on whether you think the Suns can get more value from the pick or from a free agent. I guess it depend on which player.

If it were up to me, I would offer Eisley & the 3mill. I think a new team wouldnt mind Eisley as a PG to start the team.

Their problem is that they have only $30 million in cap space. Eisley's second year is $6.9 million - a huge percentage of their cap space.

BTW, it is too bad Eisley played so poorly when with the Suns. It makes him all but impossible to unload.

OK, but if they took him in the expansion draft, couldnt they cut him and not take on his salary?

They have to pay him. They just don't have to include it on the cap like most teams face when cutting guys with guaranteed contracts.

Also, I'm quite sure that they are not allowed to take more than one player from each team.
