Cardinals---wins over Redskins, Dolphins, Saints, Seahawks and Rams.

Seahawks lose to Panthers, Packers or Rams (or both!), Cardinals.

Both teams finish 9-6-1. Cardinals win tiebreaker (1-0-1).

I know it seems like such a long shot right now, but if the Cardinals can catch a little lightning in a bottle, anything can happen this time of year.

The #6 wild card seed is possible too, if the Cardinals beat the Redskins and wind up tied with them at 8-7-1. They could lose 3 of their last five (@ AZ, @ PHI, CAR, @ CHI, NYG).

I have a feeling that there will wind up being a few NFC teams at 8-8, which would mean 8-7-1 gets the Cardinals in.

Mitch I like your optimism, but this team doesnt play well, in all facet, some of our best players underperforming.
This season also coaching is an issue plus they look mentally weak, I dont see how they can overcome all these problems.

In the remaining games better to see some experiments for next season
Sio moore at ILB, minter benched
Bucannon playing SS
Jefferson playing bucannon role as $linebacker
Pierre Olsen and knemdiche getting several snaps at DE
See marquis bundy at wr
Kerwynn Williams and taylor ahead of Ellington
Toner playing RG
Boehm center
Wetzel RT

I agree 100% with Mitch. Yesterday would have been a hugE win but that's out the window because it would have had them within a game of everyone.

Everyone wants to hand the division to Seattle. They are very beatable, just like any team in the NFL.

I commend the enthusiasm however the team hasn't gotten any better since the start of the season and in fact has gotten worse in several areas. They came out of the bye with zero answers to the problems they had. I'm beginning to think that they believe in the system so much they just can't understand why it isn't working. They have gone into the realm of insanity. I think they truly believe that if they keep doing it over and over again it will eventually work.

The Cardinals, in my opinion, have already checked out. This entire season they have looked uninspired and un-motivated...and now that they've gotten punched in the mouth...they look like a team that has accepted defeat. I'd be extremely surprised if they won more than 2 games at this point. Something has been off all year, and unfortunately, I don't seem them figuring it out any time soon. Today being Cyber Monday...I'm sure half the guys are booking vacations for the off-season. Just isn't the Cards year.

Like the optimism don't see it happening.

We can't get out of our own way this year.

Those all sound like good ideas. I'd really like to see Toner and Boehm get some time. Not just to see what they can do, but because of the energy I think they would bring. Both of those guys get after people and play to the echo of the whistle. The Cardinals need that kind of energy right now.

It's so hard to face reality... particularly when it's so brutal and even when it's steering you right in the face. I understand Mitch. We were favored to win the NFC and seriously contend for a ring. How then can our reality be so divorced from the lofty predictions that, coming off a 13 win season and with ALL of our key players returning, along with Chandler Jones and Evan Mathis added, how? How can this be??
So we're left asking for a bottle filled with lightening to now fall our way... which is what so many other bad teams are relegated to do. Searching... hoping beyond all hope that this team that hasn't been right since training camp...the coaching that hasn't been right since camp - can now, 11 weeks into the regular season, find "something" that has literally eluded virtually the entire team and coaching.
The reality is that this team just isn't good enough, period. And IMHO, yesterday's performance is by far the most troubling set of conditions yet to be unleashed by this team all year. To have a seasoned veteran like Calais Campbell commit the single most egregious mental error all season, is beyond pathetic and speaks volumes about the collective mental state of the entire team. To have peanut of a guy who was cut by the Browns of all teams, dominate our defense... well, I'll stop short of suggesting that guys "gave up" yesterday... but it sure looked pretty damn close to that to me. Our o-line is about to get Carson Palmer killed. It's shameful. And aside from Fitz, we have NO, as in NONE, other wideouts who can reliably run a decent pattern, let alone actually catch a friggin ball...
Sorry Mitch. In order for lightening to appear, our guys would have to do their part and win games. But this team will require more than lightening in a bottle to do that. En masse lobotomies throughout most of the team could possibly do the trick... maybe... :(

This. This team is done. Too many miscues in all three phases. One more and they're "officially out". Someone will happily oblige. Seahags would have to implode and have major injuries happen.

The HB made some comments that were aired on the Doug and Wolf show. Something to the effect of needing to hold everyone accountable and "stop sweeping stuff under the rug." Im not so sure he was making those statements about anyone on the defensive side of the ball. SK was also quoted about possibly "relying too much on talent and not enough on chemistry." We will have to wait till the offseason to have any possible indication as to what any of this means/who they may be talking about.

Regardless, those statements (and the lack of production through this point in the season) tells me this team isn't going to magically un-eff themselves. It's really hard to accept; hard to believe we dropped so much from last year. Hard to fathom how someone could botch stuff so bad, the team isn't so much as a shell of its former self. They most definitely aren't playing "team ball," and haven't done so all season long.

... But, we are still in the playoff hunt. Until we are mathematically eliminated, we are in the mix... Probably for about 5 more days, so lets try to enjoy it... haha

The defense hasn't really been the problem this year, although adjustments should be made. I just don't think the D can hold up as the sole leg to the table for very long without crumbling late in games. Catanzaro's misses derailed the team early. Starting the season 3-2 instead of 1-3-1 makes a big mental difference. The Butler thing is inexcusable, especially as other teams seem to find big legs just sitting on couches.

The offense is the reason for this season's failures. Palmer hasn't been sharp, the WR's are decimated or have the drops. Now Palmer is running for his life behind a broken O Line. Can't really blame Keim and Arians - they've worked exceedingly hard on it.
Drafted Cooper, drafted Humphries, drafted Boehm, brought in Veldheer, brought in Iupati, brought in Mathis. And what happens?
Our O Line these last weeks include Wetzel, Shipley, Boggs, Watford, John, etc..

The only thing that can fix this team's issues is the offseason. Much of what AZ needs is self-reflection, and that's not something that can be done week-to-week at this point.

It's a sad realization, but AZ is now playing for pride. I appreciate the optimism by some, but there's literally nothing that indicates that this team is going to all of a sudden figure it out and revert to its 2015 form.

I'm sorry, I can't see this happening. Against us? I dunno, we've got a streak in Seattle. Against Philly? Depends on if Wentz shows up. Carolina? You're kidding me. Chicago? You can't be serious. As for NY? Yeah, their defense isn't much to write home about imo. We're done.

Just 2 years ago do you think anyone saw Carolina making the playoffs when they were sitting at 2-8? I agree with what BA said in that, for some reason, the Cards are not making the few plays every game that determine the outcome. I think it's funny that GB seems to be given more hope and they have looked worse than the Cards this year. A win Sunday and things change rapidly in this league.
