Just a tip: Go to Keepvid.com next time you have a video that you don't want to go away.

You copy the url into the form at the top of the main page, select youtube (also does ifilm, google video, etc). It will give you a download link (just below "Download" on the page.

Save that to your computer (may have to change the title, make sure it ends with ".flv" (flash video format))

Then, as long as you have an .flv player, you can watch/share the videos whenever you want.

Here's the .flv player we use: http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html

We've got many videos saved on our jump drives. Just save the flv player (.exe file) to your jump drive also and you can easily install it in seconds on another computer to show off your videos.

:jedi:

My wife has several clips of old commercials she loves, Star Trek stuff, bloopers, etc. I have Star Wars stuff (Chad Vader, Troops, etc), and some sports stuff.

We used to use something called the youtubegrabber, but after some time it stopped working, so we switched to keepvid.

Firefox has an extension called VideoDownloader that does this as well so you can download the video instantly, rather than having to go through a website. There is also a program which converts the file into an .mpeg or .wmv file pretty quickly so I don't have to deal with flash video, because .flv is stupid.

YouTube is awesome

That's what I use, too.

I love being able to watch all the episodes of The Office.
