Don't you have Windows media player or RealPlayer?

Maybe I'm not understanding what you are asking clearly but when I play a CD in my computer WMP and RealPlayer prompt me to save them if I want to. Some window pops up that says "Tracks from this CD are not saved, do you want to save now?"

Or some crap like that.

Oh! I do have Windows Media Player.

I will fart around with that and see if that will do it.

Thanks.

FYI, Windows Media Player will save the files in .wma format, which I suppose is fine if all you want to do is listen to them on your computer.

I would prefer it to be in .mp3 format. Should I just go ahead use the program from that link?

Win Media Player gives you a choice of what format to convert it to. MP3's are the dominant format so stick with that.

Simply go to Tools > Options > Rip Music tab

Select your format and quality. For CD ripping i generally use 256kb. Still gives good fidelity without increasing file size too much. Generally most MP3's you get online are 128kb.

So Cal
Free Rip is a fat stand alone program as well... I normally use Windows Media also, but the Free Rip seems to be a tad faster...

Are you using Windows Media 10 or something, because the last version of WMP I used (9) only ripped cds as .wma files

Yes, but i thought 9 gave you the output format option too. Been a while since i've used it so i can't remember with 9 exactly.
