It's not like he was 2-15. He was 1-4. He needs to shoot better, sure, but last night's game isn't the end all reason to complain about it.

As the first regular season game following the playoffs, and Frye's dismal ongoing performance, I think it is.

The only thing he has to offer this team at the backup Center or Power Forward position is consistent 3-point shooting. That seems to have disappeared, leaving no redeeming qualities for him being used in a power position. Let alone playing half of the game at Center as he did in Game 1. Including that embarrassing 4th quarter.

Of course you do. You're BC.

Again, he was only 1-4 with 6 rebounds. At least he got those few boards. I'm actually very surprised he only took 4 shots.

Is this your first time watching Channing play? Did you think he was magically going to avg 10 rebounds a game?

It's simple logic. Amare is a bad rebounder. Channing is a bad rebounder. Amare averages 9 rebounds per game therefore Channing should average 9 rebounds per game.

Or give Robin Lopez the opportunity to develop into that.

This isn't about Channing Frye, Suns Center. It is about keeping Lopez, the Suns Center, on the bench with no fouls for half the game, including the entire 4th quarter, when we were overwhelmed.

See, now here is something we can agree on!

I know we don't really talk about it, but since preseason, my biggest issue with the Suns has been the coaching. We had no real prep for the regular season because Gentry kept auditioning people for more than half the game throughout the preseason. There's no reason why Matt Janning should have 30 minutes in the 2nd-to-last preseason game.

Power forwards we could have had and their opening game numbers. When I get some time, I'll put their respective contracts up as a comparison.

Scola: 36/16
Lee: 17/15
T. Thomas: 22/6
Beasley: 17/7
Tolliver: 14/7
Gooden 15/11
Hickson 21/6
Stoudemire 19/10

It should be noted that Lee and Scola's numbers are slightly inflated due to a 132-128 barn burner.

Tolliver was a real steal for GS out of the development league last season. I expect no less from Suns GM Lance Blanks who Babby described as a basketball genius and a excellent talent evauator. I'm still waiting to see if he can bring in a hidden gem.

"Why not give us a chance?" Frye said. "We have so much versatility. Coach is trying stuff out. Stick with us. It's going to be a sucker trying to guard us. I was telling Steve (Nash) something's going to happen in practice or a game where two or three lineups work and it'll be like, 'Damn, why didn't we do this from the beginning?' and everybody's where they're supposed to be and going to get confidence from that."

Fry is very versatile. He can stand in ten different sports behind the three point line and shoot some bricks, couple of airballs, etc. He can give up point and rebounds in a variety of ways as well.

Frye actually has good footwork and a nice mid-range game. He's also deceptively quick for his size. The problem is that he just likes to hover outside the whole time. Whether that's him or by the play's design, last night he was most effective when making some moves with the ball.

I'm sure those two or three lineups will involve Frye being on the bench at the time :)
