After another midweek sweep, the Clemson Tigers welcome ACC rival Wake Forest to Doug Kingsmore Stadium today to begin a three-game series in a matchup of two teams ranked in the top 15.

Clemson (21-2 overall, 2-1 ACC), ranked No. 6 in this week's USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, swept a two-game series against The Citadel earlier this week, including an 11-1 victory in seven innings Wednesday. The Tigers' bats outscored the Bulldogs 17-5 after taking two of three from Notre Dame in their ACC opener last week.

Jarren Purify continues to lead the Tigers in hitting with a .386 average, .495 on-base percentage and .657 slugging percentage in 22 games. Outfielder Cam Cannarella is heating up after going 5-for-12 with a double and three RBIs in Clemson's series against Notre Dame. He followed it up with a perfect 5-for-5 day at the plate in Tuesday's 6-4 win over The Citadel and is up to a .346/.464/.474 slash line in 21 games this season.

Josh Paino leads the Tigers with five home runs and 27 RBIs while batting .299 in 23 games. Fellow transfer portal addition Dominic Listi is third on the team in hitting (.338/.523/.473).

On the pitching side, sophomore Aidan Knaak is coming off his best start of the season in last Friday's 2-1 win over Notre Dame. The sophomore right-hander struck out a career-high 12 batters in seven shutout innings, allowing one hit and retiring 21 of 23 batters faced. Knaak was named ACC Pitcher of the Week and National Co-Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) for his efforts.

Wake Forest (18-4, 6-0), ranked No. 13 in the Coaches Poll, swept Notre Dame and Miami in their first two ACC series. The Demon Deacons suffered an 11-8 loss to Liberty on Tuesday. Butler transfer Kade Lewis, last year's Big East Freshman of the Year, leads Wake Forest in hitting with a .455 average to go with six home runs and eight doubles in 22 games. Lewis is second in the ACC in hitting.

Right-hander Logan Lunceford, a transfer from Missouri, leads coach Tom Walter's pitching staff with a 1.33 ERA in five starts. Lunceford has racked up 50 strikeouts and allowed just 10 hits in 27 innings pitched. Right-hander Blake Morningstar is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA in four starts, striking out 30 batters to seven walks in 23 1/3 innings.
