Texas Tech survived a first-round test from North Carolina-Wilmington and will now try to reach the Sweet 16 against Drake, an underdog that did find a way in the first round.
The No. 11 Bulldogs jumped out to a lead against No. 6 Missouri and took the air out of the ball for a 67-57 victory. Now they get the Red Raiders Saturday, March 22, and Texas Tech comes in as a 7 1/2-point favorite in what is supposed to be the lowest-scoring game of the second round.
The winner gets a Sweet 16 game in San Francisco next week.
The No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the No. 11 Drake Bulldogs at 4:10 p.m. Mountain/5:10 p.m. local (Central) at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan.
Texas Tech plays Drake today at 4:10 p.m. Mountain time Saturday, March 22, on TNT.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 7 1/2-point favorites, according to odds on BetMGM.com. With an over-under of 126 1/2, Texas Tech is expected to win 67-60.
The winner plays the winner of Arkansas vs. St. John's in the West Region in San Francisco.
