That would be a good reason not to watch.

i don't think it would happen - I can't see him travelling to all of the audition cities let alone stationing himself in LA for that long

some good speculation in that his sirius contract is ending and simon is leaving the show - howard is a fan of the show and would do well in a judges role

i just don't see it ever happening

i also don't understand the sentiment about being turned off if he gets it - actually I do understand it, I just think it's unfounded - the guy is a pretty big music buff and wouldn't exactly ask contestants about the state of their vaginas

I have no delusions about the qualifications of the judges. Randy Jackson is the only one on that panel that actually has any musical talent and also knows the producer side of it. But Howard Stern makes everything he does about him. Simon's entertaining in a very British way -- he's insulting, but he's earnest. He doesn't say things just to be controversial, and most of the time I think he's dead on. I don't see that in Stern.

But I haven't watched the show in a couple of years so I don't really care either way. It does bother me that Stern might get another vehicle to promote himself. I'm worn out on him. Enjoyed the movie, I get his schtick, and I'm just tired of it.

I think he'd also fill that role of getting a rise out of other judges which is a big part of the show - the bickering amongst themselves

I think he'd be able to keep the attention where it's deserved - the guy is very savvy and understand the entertainment business.

Self promotion has worked for him and he's done it well because that is what he had to do and that is what his product is.

I really don't see it happening though. I think radio is where he feels the most comfortable and despite his complaining it's what he likes to do. If anything I think it's a way for AI to get some headlines before hollywood week along with testing the waters for style of judge and for stern to show he has options as his contract comes up for renewal.
