Per azcentral, Hudson has a torn ligament in his thumb. Says he will return in a couple days, but somehow I doubt it. And even if he does it should severely affect his swing .

That's a big blow if he's out a long time (and my guess he will be. Thumbs are kind of important).

This happened Tuesday, and he played Wednesday... could be that he suffered the initial injury on this slide, and worsened it on Wednesday night. I was at the game, and didn't even see him hurt...

I wouldn't mind seeing Upton at 2nd but he hasn't played infield in a long time

Guys ...... They just signed him for the last 3 weeks. Also, Cruz could be injured and this would be a good, experienced reliever in our bullpen to finish out the regular season. He does not qualify to pitch in the post season.

He's out 6-8 weeks, so optimistically, we might be able to see him if we get deep in the playoffs.
