Did anyone catch the pilot episode for this show on HBO yesterday? It's really, really well written.

It's basically about a high school gym teacher who's down on his luck. His only skill is that he has a very large "member". So he goes into prostitution.

Awesome so far

I think I read somewhere it is only supposed to be 30 minutes an episode which would be disappointing since it is so hard to develop the story in that short of a time. The first episode showed a lot of promise. I'll definitely be giving this show a try. Will be interesting to see how they go about the story. Obviously it seems like they will make it awkward since it is a comedy. Good so far.

Man, if it's only 30 minutes it might not be worth it. Still, I'll be watching for a while anyway.

Thought the first episode was OK, but I'm curious how long they'll be able to play this note. The premise sort of boxes you into the corner and you either end up defying belief (i.e. he somehow maneuvers his way without getting the attention of someone at school) or you blow up the premise by the end of Season 1. Weeds has the same challenge, IMO.

I'm sure they'll have him bang one of his basketball player's mothers, those plots always surface. They'll have the re-establishment of his relationship with his kids.. He'll probably have to money launder or something to conseal where he's getting money all of the sudden.

There's a great deal of things they can do.

I definitely like the fact they made him a teacher. They didn't cheat themselves or the audience by making him unemployed or in some field where he could totally fly under the radar. I'll be watching for sure to see where it goes.

1/2 hour shows always drive me nuts. By the time I get into the episode it's over. Weeds used to infuriate me when it was actually good and I only got 30 minutes a week of it.

I thought it was pretty good. Not necessarily as funny as I was expecting, but the story was more interesting. I loved the camping bit and the neighbor interaction.

Most comedies are 30 min, most dramas are 1 hour. I was expecting this to be a 30 minute show. So far, it's pretty funny. The redhead in episode 2 is pretty wild.

I don't believe Thomas Jane and Anne Heche spawned those two ogre children.

I agree, the casting director should find a new gig. Those kids should be under a bridge

I hope he gets some "lay for pay" from the neighbor chick.... she's kind of hot and it would get back at the lawyer for being such a d'bag about his situation.

I actually know people who could sue that show for the lawyer character because he is their exact likeness.

You don't think they added something to the show?

I liked the show. The ending was way too predictable, but at least it looks like they'll keep this one going.

I finished season 2, which was good enough to keep me watching. I'll eventually catch season 3, which apparently was its last.

I finished season 3. Lennie James (Morgan from Walking Dead) was a great addition to this show. I just found out he was in one of my favorite movies, Snatch.
