what color is the carpet in your house?

Do you eat animal crackers?

Ha! That reminds me of this joke, for some reason:

A guy meets a hooker in a bar. She says, “This is your lucky night. I’ve got a special game for you. I’ll do absolutely anything you want for $300, as long as you can say it in three words.” The guy replies, “Hey, why not?” He pulls his wallet out of his pocket, and one at a time lays three hundred-dollar bills on the bar, and says, slowly: “Paint…my…house.”

I haven't had animal crackers in a long time, but I do remember feeling a little guilty for doing so when I was a kid.

Why? Is it health or animal issues? I can't imagine life without being able to eat a part of a dead cow.

Do you eat animal crackers?

When my Dad was in the military working at the pentagon, and I was 3 years old, my Mom would always buy me a box of animal crackers while she was shopping in the commissary.

Which is kind of funny now, because I don't like sugar and not the kind of thing I would eat.

It is because of the animal issues. The health and environment benefits are bonuses.

I gave up soft drinks for New Year's in 2000 and haven't missed them since. Same thing with meat, dairy, and eggs about four years ago. I thought it would be hard, but it's really not. I think it is much easier today than it was in the past because there are really good substitutes for those products if you do get a craving.

If man were meant to be vegan, brocolli would be more fun to hunt.

Bacon is meat candy.

I respect that.

FWIW, I stopped drinking soda a long time ago as well. Not so much a conscious decision, I just don't like sugar and carbonation.

I am addicted to flavored bottled water, tho.

One of my ex-wives was a vegan so that's what I had to eat. One day I just couldn't take it anymore and I stopped at Bert's Burger Bowl in Santa Fe and drowned my sorrows with a double meat, cheese, bacon, green chile burger. I also got a pint of deep fried chicken livers to go and ate them in my truck.

Am I going to hell??

True Food makes an amazing Tempeh/Lettuce/Tomato sandwich.

Baco-bits are soy-based, so when I want the bacon flavor, I use those. :)

Does seeing other people eating meat ever bother you?

Good question. It doesn't bother me, but I do see their "chicken" as "a chicken," so it makes me a little sad, I guess.

Should be just as much fun. Brocolli is totally defenseless just like anything else folks hunt. And you can "stalk" it.

One of my cats loves broccoli, fwiw. Dunno why. LOL.
