BTW, that quesadilla was excellent! Dilla Libre has a restaurant on Northern near the 51.

They also said that they used to use Impossible Foods to veganize their dishes, but now Impossible Foods has to route all of their supply to Burger King, so the mom and pops are shut out for now, which sucks. But I know Impossible is raising a lot of money to increase production, so hopefully they'll take care of their smaller buyers when that happens.

No wonder the stock is going so high on Wal Street! They are getting quite the premium right now! It takes about ten 2.5 pounds of feed per pound of beef. That's a lot of plant matter for the average 1,300 pound steer! That's kept down by pasturing the beef on grass. There's a LOT of cost in beef. So hopefully someday this plant protein gets way cheaper than real meat.

Yeah, the calories are high compared to what I usually eat. But, Del Taco ... yum! Have had the Beyond Tacos. Crunch, crunch, yum, yum.

This week, a new law went into effect in Mississippi. The state now bans plant-based meat providers from using labels like “veggie burger” or “vegan hot dog” on their products. Such labels are potentially punishable with jail time. Words like “burger” and “hot dog” would be permitted only for products from slaughtered livestock. Proponents claim the law is necessary to avoid confusing consumers — but given that the phrase “veggie burger” hasn’t been especially confusing for consumers this whole time, it certainly seems more like an effort to keep alternatives to meat away from shoppers.
