Can he still play? At this point, the Suns need to sign someone, and Penny may be "ok" for 10-15 minutes off the bench. From what I saw of him in NY he was basically a shadow of his former self, but looked decent enough to play a few minutes off of the bench.

What about a 1 year vet minimum deal? It might be worth a shot.

Am I totally insane? ;)

not a chance in hell that the suns give Penny a call, and not a chance in hell Penny would listen to the suns if they called.

Answer to your question is an astounding YES!!!!
Leave buried $hit lie. He's not healthy or good enough to wear a Suns uni again.

Assuming he'd even come here, he'd be worth a veteran's minimum deal. Dude can still play a bit.

C'mon, get serious.

Even Piatkowski is a better option than Penny at this point.

I disagree. ;)

And actually, I think bringing back Jacobsen would have been a better idea than the Polish Rifle.

Man, so much Penny hate on this board.

Haven't you guys heard? He's 100% again, and feels as good as he did his rookie year! ;)

You guys need to relax, its not like Penny or the Suns had any ill will against each other when he was traded.

To act like Penny ever did anything bad here other than getting constantly injured while making max money, is just plain wrong.

Remember that he did put it on the line for us playing injured versus the Spurs when Kidd was hurt. And that will always stay with me cause he really looked like a warrior in that series and shed his soft image even if for only a short time.

I would galdy accept Penny coming back for the vet min, cause he still has great court vision and he could backup PG/SG for about 10-15mins a night. And that would be perfect minutes to keep him healthy for the entire season.

We would still need someone that can Defend guys like Cassell and Terry though.

Penny robbed the Suns franchise like no other. Then on top of it he shot his mouth and whined to the press like a little girl. Plus not only that I dont want Suns fans to have to put up with obnoxious Penny fans anymore.

NO PENNY!!!!!!!!!

How, did he force the Suns to give him a max deal?

Maybe if Penny healed himself to 100% instead of playing injured against the spurs in the playoffs cause he knew we had no chance if both him and Kidd sat out, he would've lasted the rest of his contract.

Will you say Amare robbed the Suns if he never returns to the old Amare?

Villianize the guy for getting injured, Amazing.

And to get angry cause he never wanted to give up, and to keep thinking he could still produce like he did when everyone loved him, is ridiculous.

This guy was on everyones TV back in the mid 90's, and he was supposed to be the next Magic.

You expect him to give up and think he could never be the same player again because of injuries? As soon as he stopped believing it was going to be over for him.

Put yourself in his shoes and see if you wouldnt get frustrated cause you're killing yourself fighting back from injuries and have to deal with people telling you that you're now just a backup.

I don't blame him for bitching & moaning to the media, cause anyone with his past of being a huge star, wouldnt just accept that you're no longer capable of being a star anymore while you're in your prime because of the injuries.

Look Penny fan, he left a bad taste in our mouths. We never got to see any Penny glory days in Phoenix. He came here washed up with a fat contract and a big mouth. I dont like him...I dont want to see him get a ring on the Suns team. I dont want his cancer around our players. He's a washed up bum!

Yes, but according to Penny, he's finally 100% and feels as good as his rookie days! ;)
